I chose this at the nail salon and was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would just be a pale sheer pink, but it is kind of opalescent…very subtle, hard to describe. It’s not “frosted” but more like a very muted satin effect. I have tan, yellow-toned skin and the color really highlights a tan. The tech used 3 coats on my short nails and it is completely opaque. I purchased it to use myself because I like it so much; howoever, it seems to chip very easily. I am looking forward to testing it sheerer with just one coat to see how that looks.

I was gifted this polish from my sister, who had it given to her at a beauty salon. She knew it was my colour and although it is, I dont know if I am one for the ‘white’ nail look. Maybe it will grow on me.
I had problems with it streaking, but maybe now I have had more practice at applying polish, next time it wont be so bad….. Will give an update later on!
I am a soft and cool colouring and this polish is a good match to icy pink.

One of the best products to use when using the tape technique for manicures! It is opaque in just one coat.

I’m also after the white-pinky French mani look so many celebs seem to wear these days and Your Royal Shyness is awesome for that.
The colour is a white pinky nude with a true pearl finish. That’s so rare to find, most polishes contain chunky shimmer but this just gives that translucent pearly white sheen to nails, exactly like the inside of seashells.
It does streak a bit because of the pearl finish so you need two coats for opacity. Two coats make it stark white though and I don’t really like that, it would only look good on long nails imo.
I just do one coat and then two coats of clear polish. The result is very fresh and elegant looking nails that are suitable for a professional environment.
I never use a base coat for this polish because it’s always the first coat that goes on the most even. I just buff away all the ridges before doing my mani.
Oh, and if you find OPI too expensive, Maybelline’s Forever Strong in Pink Shimmer is an exact dupe for Your Royal Shyness!

First off, I love the little gem that comes with these! Cute!
The color is the absolute perfect shade of light pinky nude with a slight shimmer. Gorgeous on toes and tips. (I wanted Chanel Django to be this on me but it was way too peachy on my NW20 skin). The bad side is that is is a bit streaky. I did 3 coats on both tips and toes and there are some streaks on a few of my nails. Luckily the slight shimmer helps draw attention away from that.

I like Your Royal Shyness very much if you have the right technique to apply. The color is shimmer white/pale pink with a sort of pearly finish. It’s not very easy to apply without being streaky. I think a good 2 – 3 coats is essential. For some reason, it dries quite quickly. The remaining nail polish left in the bottle becomes quite dry. Need to put 1 – 2 drops of thinner to reuse. But generally speaking, this color is girly and fresh and it’s good for all seasons. Can wear it to work or a nice elegant evening out. Will definitely buy it again.

I was looking for a pale, opaque white/pale pink, and I finally found it! In fashion magazines you often see the models wearing this pale white/pink color, very understated but clean and uh, polished!
When first starting out in the world of polish, I didn’t understand that multiple coats are often needed to achieve the bottle color, so I tried darker pinks hoping to get a lighter look with just 1 coat (Fair Dinkum Pinkum and Got a Date To-Knight were both way too pink for the look I was going for).
3 coats are needed for total opaqueness. I get a good week’s worth from one application, and I have had no problems with streakiness, except for needing the 3 coats, but other than that I find the application quite smooth and easy. Maybe if I discover something that gives the same results with only one coat I’d switch to that, otherwise I’m happy to stick with this one. I agree that this color isn’t totally unique or special but it gives me the look I want.

I really like this color its very pretty. Mine never streaked at all but my OPI nail polishes do thicken up after I have them for a while but all you need to do is go to the beauty supply store and buy a nail polish thinner its only about $2-3 and just add a few drops and your polish shouldn’t streak at all and will have an even consistency.

I didn’t realize how opaque this polish would be.. I use a ridge-filler base coat. I applied 2 coats (1 coat gave uneven color on me, but that could have been due to some color variation in the base coat). I don’t like how white this looks, even with the bit of pink in it. Maybe it will look better when I have a tan.

This applies so thickly that it’s hard not to get streaks. It’s a shimmery pale, pale pink — fine, but I agree, nothing special.
