OPI “Visions of Georgia Green” {Coca-Cola Icons of Happiness Collection, Summer 2015} – Frosty Green/Pink duochrome with green flecks
“Visions of Georgia Green” was one of two additions to their 2014 Coca-Cola collection to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Coca-Cola bottle – I was lucky enough to find both this and the other newbie “Centennial Celebration” at TJ Maxx for 4 dollars a piece.
“Georgia Green” is a fun tribute to the classic green glass bottle. It actually makes me think of Coca-Cola, which, as much as I liked that set, none of the 2014 Coca-Cola polishes really did, except for of course “Coca-Cola Red”. “Georgia Green” builds to a nice opacity in three coats, but one coat was sheer enough that I’d say you could wear it as a topcoat. When I call it “frosty”, I don’t mean that in the way that makes people shudder, “Georgia Green” doesn’t have a brushstroke in sight. It has a nice strong duochrome with pink in the middle and green on the sides. But the real winner is the little green flecks that show up in direct light. They give the polish an extra little bit of awesome sparkle that really makes this a really fun special polish.
What I liked –

* Opaque in three coats (I was honestly expecting it to take more)
* Can be used as a topper
* Pretty unique – for the most part
What I didn’t like –
* Pretty close to a Revlon polish
Dupes: It’s pretty darn close to Revlon’s “Wild” that’s currently sold at drugstores. I got “Wild” as a gift after I got “Georgia Green”, and the differences between them are negligible. My bottle of “Georgia Green” actually cost a bit less than a bottle of “Wild” would have (about $6), but for the most part unless you can find a bottle on clearance like I did “Wild” is the cheaper option, not to mention the option more likely to be available now.
Would I buy it again?: For four dollars, definitely.
Would I recommend it?: Either this of “Wild”, absolutely, whichever is cheaper.

I just picked up this color from TJMaxx for 3.99. Definitely worth the money 🙂 In the bottle it looks like it would be a rather opaque jade green color with a touch of pink/green/gold sparkle that is very subtle. This color is beautiful and complex on. With the first coating, it’s the color of an old Coke bottle but after a few coats you are able to see the sparkle a little more though it still stays very classy and subtle. Certainly work appropriate and contrasts nicely with my labradorite ring. I’m not sure about the staying power of this color but if it’s anything like any other OPI product it should stay put pretty well especially since I paired it up with the OPI top coat.

This is such a pretty color, and it has much more depth on the nail than what it looks like in the bottle. In the bottle it looks like your basic light shimmery green. On the nail it has more depth, with small flecks of holographic glitter that flash pink and yellow. The glitter is only obvious if you look very closely, and this is definitely an understated green. From a distance it appears more slate-colored, up close it’s more green. One coat will give you the color and effect of a glass coke bottle. It took me three coats to get opaque coverage, and more coats will make the result greener. The formula is easy to work with and you get the usual high-quality OPI brush. I usually find green polishes hard to wear, but this one I really like. I picked it up as an afterthought, but I’m much more impressed with it on the nail.

Not normally a fan of green polish but I do love those old green tinged coke bottles so I needed to pick up the duo with this colour and another bright silver in it. This is a gorgeous pale green, not screaming green, a more “appropriate for work” green. It has tiny, barely noticeable glitter in it, it really adds something special to the polish. I needed about 3 coats to get good coverage, which is more than I’d like but it’s worth it for this shade. Would repurchase.

Just found this gorgeous sparkling green color this evening! It is extremely pretty, with tiny blue sparkles in it. Since it isn’t bright, I think it could be worn any time of the year. It is in a duo pack of OPI’s Coca Cola colors…the other color is almost a sparkling pewter color. Haven’t tried that one yet, but it looks nice. This polish is a bit thin, meaning more coats needed to make it opaque….but it also means it drys faster, which to me is a huge plus. To make this an even better purchase, I found this duo at TJ Maxx for $7.99…making each polish only $4! Unheard of for OPI! If you live near a TJM, check out the nail polishes, if you haven’t already done so. Usually a LOT of OPI colors….great deal!

Visions of Georgia Green is a new limited edition polish that OPI released with the re promote of the Coca-Cola collection. This polish is only sold in a duo set with a silver and I found these online and picked these up a month ago. I’m just now getting around to swatching them and wearing them as I was involved in a 31 day nail art challenge so these got backlogged. Anyway I am wearing this gorgeous green beauty today and it’s so pretty on me. The formula is nice and it applies easily enough with the typical OPI quality and it’s easy to work with. It does go on a bit sheer though so I had to use 3 coats (2 thin and 1 heavier one) to cover the visible nail line. This is really a nice polish and has a metallic finish with teeny tiny blue sparkles in it. They aren’t very visible though and you have to be looking for them but they are there in the dried polish. I fell in love with this as soon as I got it on and saw how pretty it is. Maybe I am partial to the color though as I noticed my bedroom and living room are this same shade of sage green. Anyway, this green is great and I was planning on getting a back up bottle when I was going through my stash and discovered 2 other polishes that were bottle dupes so I had to swatch them on a wheel. What I discovered was a delightful surprise in that Revlon’s #565 Wild is almost an exact dupe down to the finish and the blue sparkles!!! It’s got a tint of yellow compared to the OPI. It’s so close that you could wear both the Revlon and the OPI on the same hand and no one would be able to tell they weren’t the same polish. See for yourself in my photo. I took this indoors right next to the window in natural sunlight. SinfulColors Moss Have is almost a color match and finish but doesn’t have the blue sparks in it and it is more metallic and slightly brushstrokey. Unless you are super close up and super critical you can’t really tell the difference, so if you can’t find one or don’t want to buy the set, you can pick up the Revlon polish for less than $5 and oftentimes HEB runs a special on Revlon where you can get in store coupons for $2 off so I pick these up when they are on special. I don’t remember when I picked up Wild, it was sometime between last fall and now so it’s not an old polish. I think it may be a core line color. Seriously though it is a dupe. I will post a pic of the wheel showing the 3 and you can see for yourself. The Revlon formula was good too and I had no complaints with application, streakiness, patchiness, or flooding. It applied just as well as the OPI and it dries to the exact same finish and color. So unless you really have to have the OPI name on your bottle, save your money and pick up the Revlon. If you really want to save get the SinfulColors when it’s on sale for only .99 at Walgreens I can’t speak for wear time as I’ve only had this on since yesterday but it’s been through 2 loads of dishes, 2 meal preps, laundry, a shower, and a dog bathing and still looks fresh and new so I’m happy with it. I wouldn’t buy it again now that I have found the less expensive and more readily available Revlon Wild. Revlon is in nearly every store I shop at, and OPI is definitely not, but they are starting to go mainstream and I’ve seen them at my HEB and now at Sally’s Beauty. And didn’t I see OPI at Wal Mart? I think so… I was shocked too. Happy Polishing!
