Tempest is a light blue, simmer polish with a very subtle purple shift. I own 100s of polishes and this one is very unusual in my collection. I own a miniature, which was a part of this year’s Ciate Advent Calendar.
The formula is good, but this polish is very shear. I had to keep adding the coats to build up the opacity. I stopped at 4 coats – I was reasonably happy with that opacity, but could still see the visible nail line (VNL). Due to the number of coats it took a lot longer to dry than I am used to with Ciate polishes.
I am not sure if I would repurchase it. Yes, it is very pretty and unusual. But, it’s not the most flattering with my skin tone (it stands out, warm colour polishes suit me better) and it requires too many coats. I want to try it as a topper in the future, over a light blue cream, but I have a feeling that it would lose some of its magic this way.
