This is my new favourite nail polish, and this brand will now be the only one I’ll be buying. HG.
I work in a flower shop. It’s very hard on your hands. Lots of water, cleaners, dirt, etc and a lot of detail work that can damage nails. Ive tried so many Nail polishes, including the raved about Sally Hanson’s Miracle Gel. That one would chip within a day at my job, as would any other polish I’ve tried except a professional manicure.
I’m shocked to say this nail polish has been on three days, which is a record for me, with no chips at all- still going strong.
It’s worth noting that I used their base and top coat as well.
I did-
2 coats of Essence extreme base coat.
2 coats of sweet as candy
1 coat of Essence extreme shine top coat.
Of course allowing to dry in between. Pretty fast drying which is nice. It looks like a subtle French manicure- very simple and clean. I love it and I cant recommend it enough. I’m curious how many days until it chips…

This makes your nails look very clean and polished after 2 coats. There is no streaking with this polish – it looks amazing! I figured out how to get it to DRY. Pick up some nail polish thinner from Sally’s (it’s super cheap) and add about 4-5 drops. This will help it dry completely. I also wait a few hours in-between coats just to ensure I don’t get any dents. I always get compliments with this polish – it looks like I got my nails done at a salon!!

Sweet As Candy is a gorgeous sheer, milky pink polish. It applies easily, two or three coats are required depending on how much depth you want in your mani. This shade is gorgeous for using in a french manicure, for a conservative office environment or similar, or for anyone wanting a clean and delicate manicure. The formula is lovely, thicker than most other drugstore polishes but not tricky to use or gluggy at all. It applies easily, does not streak or flood the cuticle area. It is easy to manipulate and thin coats of colour can be applied, even with the thicker formula. The brush is fairly wide, so only one or two strokes are needed to cover the nail – depending on the length and width of the nail of course. This is a gorgeous, minimalistic and classic shade for an incredible cheap price – $3.25AUD. I always have great success with Essence’s nail polishes and this baby is no exception. I would recommend this shade to anyone.

This is a fantastic sheer pink polish. The bottle is small (only 8ml – about half the size of a regular bottle), but this means that you actually have a chance of using it up before it dries out. It retails for $1.99 in Canada. Unfortunately I’ve never seen these go on sale. Anyhow, the polish is a very sheer pale pink. The application is completely streak-free. Believe it!!! I wish some of my Essie’s were this easy to apply. The first coat shows very little colour, but it builds a bit on the second and third coats. The brush is wide and flat with slightly rounded edges. In my opinion, Essence brushes are the best in the industry, at least for my nail shape. Because the bottle is wide at the bottom, it is stable when dipping the brush back in for polish. And the rounded cap is easy to hold an maneuver. Oh, and this polish is 5 free!!!! You will always have a visible nail line with this polish, but it’s the perfect thing to slap on bare nails for a natural, minimalist look.

I’m going through my 3rd bottle of this, it’s the perfect light-pink polish, great for everyday. Your nails will look pampered and polished, as if you just left the salon. I love all the Essence Colour&Go polishes, they’re really cheap, but still great quality. The brush is perfect, and they usually last one week on my nails. And the colour range is insane! Also among my favorites: English Rose (dark, brownish pink), Fame Fatal (bright red), Do You Speak Love? (dark red) and I’m So Very (rusty dark orange) and of course the nude ones (a tip: Hazelnut Cream Pie)! And a huge bonus I just discovered on their website: they don’t test on animals!
*update: I just fell in love with the color called “Redvolution”, it’s a fantastic, bright, orange-y red, love it! (and no, Essence doesn’t pay me to write these posts 🙂 )

This is one of the most beautiful pink nail polishes I have ever had. I bought it in Rome in a department store for only 1.99 EUR, which is its normal price for the 5ml mini bottle. I was travelling through Europe and I had left my beloved Revlon 007 Sheer Blossom home and I wanted to have a natural colour for the classic polished look. Well, this is of a jelly consistency, milky pale pink with a cold under tone. It makes the most beautiful French manicure with only two coats, where the nails are rosy and the tips are white, and it looks amazing on my tanned hands. The quality is awesome. I wear it for one week without chips, fading or change of colour. I love it!!! Unfortunately Essence is a brand that is sold only in Europe in drugstores and department stores.

Horrible.
Sheer.
NEVER DRIES, no matter what, you can just scratch it off.
Hopefully the other Essence nail polishes aren’t this finish and will dry.

It’s a very basic milky pink that only becomes noticeable after two coats. Boring but still great for a more polished, office appropriate look. It performs as well as most Essence polishes (dries quickly, is not streaky) so I think it deserves a good rating.
Edit: This looks absolutely beautiful after three coats but unfortunately it also (I am not using a base or top coat though) chips in a day or two.

I am surprised how much I love this colour. Great for everyday in the office. The colour is a very nice milky pink which adds just a manicured shine.
It gives the nail a healthy shine. It is not an opaque colour.
Dries quickly, easy application and superb value for money.

This is a very pretty cotton candy pink in the bottle, however the polish actually is much more sheer than expected even after three coats. However, I feel like it does make my natural nails absolutely pretty, shiny and healthy looking. I think this is about as close as I can get to a “nude” nail polish. When I want opaque pink polish, I’ll use my Rimmel “French Lingerie” which does come out as a soft pale pink.
