I love this navy, finally a navy that is definitely a blue/navy and doesn’t masquerade as a black! Formula was a little runny to work with so I had to be careful not to overload my brush. Easy two coats and nice and squishy and shiny on the nails. Dark enough to be corporate, light enough to be noticeably navy. Love it, will definitely enjoy wearing this again in future

A fabulous blue. Got a pedicure tonight and used this color for the first time. Do not agree with the reviews that it looks almost black. I got 2 coats and its a gorgeous, deep blue. It is opaque and quite stunning. Big thumbs up. A+

Deep dark blue; much deeper than it appears in the bottle. This is a blue that looks possibly light black if the room is dark enough. This isn’t so dark that it looks black really but it can be if the lighting is right.
Very nice formula and easy so apply. Its a great Essie.

I fell in love with this deep shade of blue as soon as I saw it. On my nails, though, it’s darker than it appears in the bottle – with two coats, it’s almost a blue-black (but not a navy).

Beautiful deep blue shade of polish with the typical Essie quality. Has a nice bit of shine, not gloppy or streaky. One coat is fairly opaque and looks blue still, whereas with two you get an opaque, blue-black color. Dries fairly quickly, and lasts fairly well.
Caveat: worst staining polish I’ve ever come across! My fingernails and fingers were all blue and looking frost bitten – just from removing it from my toes! It hadn’t even been on my fingernails! So beware of stained skin with this one. It’s a pain.

This placid blue creme is a little darker and less purple than it appears in the bottle, but just as vivid, sharp, and clear.
Style Cartel is the color of the sky in early evening, a turquoise/cyan deepened to near black. Despite the bottle color, it really has no purple tones to it.
Respective of opacity, it seems to lie closer to creme (opaque) than jelly (translucent) on the creme-jelly spectrum. Barielle makes a very similar color called Berry Blue, that looks just like this but a few shades darker, and I definitely prefer this one.
