I’m in love with speckle! I bought the purple one and it’s such a fun to wear it. It took me two coats and it looks exactly like on the picture, I wear it for days and no chipping in sight. I usually don’t spend more than 10$ on nail varnishes, because I always get a manicure anyway, which is either nude or a french, but recently I bought a couple of Illamasqua nail varnishes and speckle has got to be one of my all time favourites, it just looks too cute and the pastel lilac colour is so elegant.

I LOVE this line.. I ended up buying the purple, blue, and mint green speckle polish. These are so easy to wear and only take a couple coats.. and as most of you know, Illamasqua’s polishes last for days without chipping and cracking. I heart their polishes and this line is just too cute for spring. Def. worth the $$.. so cute! And who doesn’t love pastels for Spring/Summer?!? (: Good luck finding them.. Sephora is constantly sold out!.. eek!

It’s official – I’m in love with Illamasqua’s new Spring nail polishes! I wanted to try Speckle so badly after seeing it on beauty blogs but was put off by the steep price – normally I’m not the kind of person to spend more than £5 on a nail polish. Luckily Illamasqua offer free, fast shipping in the UK and even for the most budget-conscious polish addict this one is definitely worth the money!
I picked Speckle over the other shades as it’s such a gorgeous lilac colour with large and small dark speckles, looking just like purple Mini Eggs – perfect for Easter! The packaging is the same as other Illamasqua polishes, a simple square-base thick glass bottle with a branded black plastic lid. The polish itself applies like a dream, smooth and opaque even after a single coat – now I see why the price tag is so high! I applied 2 coats for full opacity over my Rimmel Lycra 3-in-1 base coat, the doubling up of layers looking best for different colour tones amongst the speckles. I finished using the same Rimmel product as top coat.
Since applying this shade only a couple days ago, I’ve had so many compliments on my nails! It really puts me in the mood for Easter and Spring despite the cold snowy weather just from admiring them. I’ve been busy going out, cooking, moving furniture and doing a mass tidy on my room and although I’ve had a couple of chips they were minimal and the polish still looks great. Hopefully with a better top/base coat it will last even longer.
I’ll be wearing this gorgeous colour all through Spring and can’t wait to try out the other shades, bank balance permitting of course!
