I am on the fence with Essie polishes. The last color I have used is the light blue/green color that came with this red in the winter collection (2012). The blue-green color (“Where’s My Chauffer,” or something like that) was clumpy and streaky in texture, and did not apply well. It also did not last long on my nails – would chip and peel easily. I like this red color – I think of it as tomato red – but I am not tripping, head-over-heals in love with it. However, it does apply better and lasts longer than the blue/green one. Additionally, it is a nice, bright, and cherry red. It works well enough with my light-to-medium, with golden undertones, skin tone, but it is not a color I like enough to purchase again. Just to provide a perspective, based on experience, jewel-toned colors – such as ruby red, yellows, and oranges – works better well on my skin tone. Still, this Snap Happy red is a nice candy-cane red color.

I love is color!!!!!! And I am a whore for red nails. I cannot just stay to one. I do not believe this is permanent so I am glad essie introduces orange reds each year. This is a beautiful crelly shade that lasts about 5 days with no chips on me. I do use a base and top coat. Would repurchase but this was a limited edition shade…

I love this color! A bright, creamy, poppy red (hints of orange) that is perfect for my pale but slightly olive skin. I think it spans the skin tones as well as seasons, as it came out winter ’12 but I have used it alongside navy in the spring & fall as well as bright colors for summer & creams & blacks for winter. Perfect! A definite favorite.

This is one of my favorite Essie shades. It’s so jovial, bright, and makes me feel happy when I look down at my nails. The application is great! It goes on smooth, almost opaque in one coat, and no bubbles, streaks, and any problems whatsoever. Lots of shine too. I’d describe this color as a bright red-orange with slight pink undertones. Highly recommend it.

This polish was such a treat to use. It came out in the Winter 2012 collection, but I think this color could work in warmer months too (not that I always follow the rules for nail polish seasons). The formula was buttery and incredibly smooth–it could definitely be a one-coater, but I rarely ever do one coat of any polish. Very nice polish, and I love the color too. It’s a beautiful creamy orange-red. I would repurchase!

This is my GO TO red!!!! People are particular about their reds, but I think anything too “blood red” looks goth on me because I am so pale. This is a poppy red, more on the orange spectrum, and it is vibrant. Like, really really pigmented. The formula is smooth, and the dry time is average. It practically glows on your fingers. It’s fiery and vivid. I’m obsessed basically.

part of the winter 2012 collection – a great red!
this red goes on like a dream giving a lovely even, glossy finish.
this red has a hint of orange but nothing too obvious.
a gel nail polish that gives great results. highly recommended.
