This is a really pretty cornflower blue with micro shimmer. Application is patchy with one coat but two evens it out nicely. It’s a pretty unique shade and application was easy.

I stay away from essie usually but this color has been in my collection for a while and it needed to be used. it’s a beautiful shade of blue with some shimmer. it wears beautifully. I love this shade!

This is such a pretty color and the formula is great. I have trouble with Essie because their formulas are hit and miss for me. This is a hit. It’s easy to apply, opaque in 2 coats and isn’t too thick or thin.
This is in a steel blue with a very fine silver shimmer throughout it. I am NW20 and this color just really compliments my skin. I get a lot of questions on what color it is. I would highly recommend it for a staple Essie.

I normally have trouble with the formula of Essie (but they just have the best colors so I still wear them). Y’all know that goopy mess with the skinny little brush that just taunts you when it comes to Essie polishes. This polish doesn’t have that problem, which is the first plus. The formula was super smooth even with the micro glitter and was almost fully opaque in one coat which is so nice in a periwinkle-ish shade. The brush is still annoying, Essie needs to change their brushes but it didn’t cause any streaks or problems. The color is stunning on my NW20 skin, and is a great summer color!

I have warm, medium skin and this polish looks pretty good on me. I think this color is funky enough to be different but by no means over the top. I had application issues with the first coat, but the second coat smoothed everything out. Polish is on the thick side for essie.

Smooth Sailing is a smoky cornflower steel blue with silvery micro shimmers. Its the slightly darker version of “Coat Azure”, which is a smoky aqua-blue with aqua micro shimmers. Smooth Sailing is cooler and leans purply blue and enhances pale winter skin. Coat Azure leans greenish blue and enhances a summer tan.
Formula is good. Creamy and easy apply. Good pigmentation, opaque in 2 coats. Without top coat the shimmers are subdued. With a top coat the micro shimmers show up better. Wear time is good. Removal is easy with no staining.

I slept on this color when it first came out. I prefer wearing creams and jellies. But I finally realized that I couldn’t pass up this unique shade. The blue alone is something I don’t have. Its a medium shade with dusty undertones. Looking straight on the nail, the shimmer mostly picks up a silvery color. The shimmer is intense and has rainbow spectrum if you pan over the nail. The formula worked great and I was good to go within 2 coats. I absolutely love this and hope to wear it all year around.

Gorgeous sparkly blue! Part of the Essie Summer 2011 collection.

uh uh, stay away from this all you tanned/olive/girls of colour. i feel like i’m looking down at a vampire’s hands whenever I look at my hands with this on. it’s just unflattering on my tanned skin; it would probably suit a fairer person much better.

While I do absolutely love this nail polish, I probably wouldn’t buy it again. I don’t feel the colour suits me that well. It’s a really nice dusty blue with micro shimmers in silver, light blue and I think I can see a bit of pink in there too. I was a bit worried because the first coat didn’t apply very well but the second coat finished the look making it perfect. It started to chip after about 2 days but I just extended my wear with some silver shatter which was really pretty. I might try and insert a photo. Overall, this is a great polish that I probably wouldnt purchase again mostly because I wouldnt use it up and because I prefer other blues.
