I purchased these on ebay at a steal of a price. It does what it’s supposed to do, which is refresh my manicure. I usually apply it on day four and can then go an additional three days which is perfect for me. Love this!

Updated 09/22/15: Don’t like this anymore, realized it puts a lot of air bubbles on my manicures, basically ruining them. Pointless.

i was disappointed. I love Essie, and I thought this was going to be an awesome product given the fact that I was looking for a topcoat I could use to refresh my manis with, but unfortunately it gave me bubbles. on all the nails! I thought it was because I was putting on too much product, but nope, I tried applying thin coats but still bubbles. It did give a very nice shine ..,but didn’t convince enough because of the bubbly effect it leaves behind, otherwise it would of been perfect.

I don’t really know what to make of this product. I really wanted to like it as it sounded perfect for me – it is a polish refresher, used to revive manicures by adding an extra coat of protection and shine, without being as thick as an ordinary top coat. I am pretty hard on my nails, so like to add an extra layer of top coat each night to prevent chips and wear, but this does often mean my manicure gets too thick and polish starts to peel from the edges. Unfortunately, I find Shine-e quite difficult to work with. It dries so quickly that I often don’t have enough time to apply it evenly on my nail before the brush makes marks by touching the section I had just painted. This causes bumps and drag marks, therefore ruining my manicure. If I try and remedy this by ensuring I have a good amount of the product on the brush before application, I sometimes end up with too much of it on each nail, causing annoying bubbles to form. To get the best out of Shine-e you have to ensure you have just the right amount of it on your brush to cover the entire nail without flooding it. If this can be managed you are left with a very shiny, glass-like finish that is hardwearing. I am undecided as yet whether I will re-purchase this product.

I used this product a couple of times, liked it quite a bit for it’s great shine and quick-drying trait. BUT I found that it consistently bubbled. Since it otherwise is such a nice product, I decided to buy a new bottle in case I got a bad batch. More bubbles. Lacking brain cells from my anger at more bubbles, I bought another bottle. Yep, you guessed it: yet more bubbles. Conclusion from my very scientific trial: Essie Shine-E bubbles; tiny little orbs marring the surface of my beautifully smooth and reflective manicures. It’s enough to drive one crazy. But no more. Not buying any more bottles of Shine-E. *whistles and hums* Shiny bubbles……in the polish….make me angry….all the time!

This is a fantastic top coat that restores the shine to your mani. Very thin coats, too, so it doesn’t build up like Seche, etc. I put this on weeks-old pedis and it perked them up to look like new again. Marvelous stuff, and dirt cheap too.

Essie shine-e is a high gloss top coat that dries very fast . It is intended to be used between manicures to refresh the shiny finish and extend the life of the manicure. Instructions say to apply it every other day. I used it on a 4 day old pedicure. First, I just did one foot. Wow! What a difference! My pedicure (a red creme) was instantly super shiny and looked fantastic. The shine-e coat went on easily and dried quickly. I can’t say yet whether or not it extends the life of the mani/pedi, but it certainly restored the shine. I’m sure any high gloss top coat would work well too, but the nice thing about shine-e is that it’s a thin application and dries quickly without the thickness of one of the popular quick dry coats like Poshe top coat or Seche Vite.

Your nail polish gets lots of tiny scratches on it every day. Brush on this polish refresher and your nails get a glass-like finish. I use it every few days to keep my manicure and pedicure looking fresh. It looks like you just got your nails done.
At about $15 per bottle, it is expensive but I think it’s worth it. Cost per use is just pennies and it can extend the time your nails look freshly done. A worthwhile investment IMO.

This product is wonderful. I’m sure many of us have used our topcoat to refresh a manicure, however this product is less expensive than my Poshe Topcoat yet it dries super fast and makes my manicure look new again. It isn’t as thick as a topcoat either, so removal is easier than when I have added a few coats of Poshe or Seche Vite.
