Deborah Lippmann “Sarah Smile” was literally the worst nail polish I’ve ever used. The formula is too watery and incredibly streaky. And, 30 minutes after applying the first coat, it still wasn’t dry. I patiently waited 30 minutes between each coat, and in the end, applied 4 coats over 2 hours. But I still couldn’t hide any of the streaks. I used this polish with the Deborah Lippmann “gel lab pro” base coat, so if you want you can blame the base coat. I threw “Sarah Smile” away immediately after, but I wish I could’ve blown it up because it doesn’t even deserve to sit in my trash can.

I love this color. It’s a very whitish pink and I think also quite unusal for these kind of color. I prefer it this way, even if I’m not into these colors that much. But sometimes I want to feel “clean” also. Maybe I like it that much, because it doesn’t look that girly, because it’s not that pink. ^_^ It looks very good on my fair skin. I think it will suit almost everyone, because it looks very neutral.
The application is a bit hard for me. The color is sheer, so you need at least 3 coats or more. But you can also wear it with only 1 coat.
The lasting time was good. But I don’t really remember. Maybe it lasts that good, because it’s a very light color and you won’t notice chipping that much. ^-^
I would buy it again, if it wasn’t that expensive. But I think it will last many years, if you’re not using it that much. Maybe because you need many coats it won’t last that long. That’s not so good. But after all it’s a nice, not too girly color. xD
I forgot to mention, I bought it, because I like Sex and the City. I wanted it, to remind me of this cool series. xDD Stupid Thought, but that kind of advertisment works. ^^ Oops.. :X

My absolute favourite go-to shade! Sarah smile is a very sheer, very pale, soft beige-pink. It looks very beige in the bottle but definitely looks pinky on my nails. Really looks gorgeous and natural on the nails and matches almost anything you wear! The quality of lippmann nailpolishes the best i’ve come across – even better then *gasp* OPI :-O Runs around $20CAD @ Holt Renfrew.

I put a single coat on my nails just before a school vacation and noticed the polish lasted for almost a week. Of course I left the polish on my desk (where I keep other nail accoutrements as well) and I was sorely disappointed to have to wait another week to use this gem. It’s expensive but I just love the color and its durability. Next to OPI’s Samoan Sand this is a winner for us nail minimalists.

this is the prettiest color ever, i wish i could say there was a cheaper duplicate out there but nothing has come close…the only thing that is somewhat similar, maybe in the same color family, is essie’s adore a ball like some other reviewer mentioned above. either way, nothing makes my hands look more elegant than this color. it does not streak, and i have found to last a long time when used with a bonder rubberized base coat like the one from orly.
my only disappointment with the color may have been a manufacturer’s error. i have gone through 3 tubes of Sarah smile, and the 4th i ordered from drugstore.com, and it came back completely different-much more opaque, which i do not like because part of the charm of Sarah smile is the sheerness….i hope that they did not change the formula.

While I DO love the sheerness and “prettiness” of this color (agrees with so many skin tones and looks LOVELY (pardon the pun) on the nail), I have to say that this nail polish chips faster than Carrie can say manolo….The lasting power is so poor, I can’t imagine why anyone would purchase this overpriced polish over the classic OPI formula. I WISH Lippman’s polishes lasted because her colors are wonderful.

I do like this stuff…I tend to vaciliate between a variety of very dark poishes and have trouble finding sheer, clean-looking polishes that look good with my warm medium skin, so I have been loving this one for a few years now. I don’t like it on my toes — it’s to sheer — but it’s fantastic on my hands, paired with a nice red, coral, fuschia, or black on the toes (I adore color). A bit pricey, but of high quality. If you don’t want to spend so much, try one of the Essie colors — I find that Ballet Slippers or Mademoiselle give a similar effect, or Adore-A-Ball’s good if you want a bit more color.

i love lippman polishes! this one was designed with sarah jessica parker because deb lippman was the manicurist on the set of sex and the city. it is a cross between pale pink and beige. i agree that the first coat is pretty transparent but the color builds when the second coat is applied. it gives my nails a clean and polished look. i get about ten days from lippman polises when i use them with her top coat. i love this color and the entire collection.

What a pretty color! At first I thought, how blah–but it’s really very nice. Midway between my two Chanels–Beige Naturel and Flamme Rose. It’s actually exactly the same shade as Chanel’s Le Perle but without the shimmer. Two coats makes for a neutral, slightly milky nail, with a pinkish tinge. 8/26/06: Well, I am re-rating this. Very pretty color but I think something in the Lippmann n/p destroys my nails, because they suddenly start peeling every time I use this, even with a base coat. Too bad as it’s a pretty color.

This is my HG nail polish. I adore it. It gives my nails a very fresh, clean,
nude look. I’d call it sheer ivory.
It is very easy to apply and does not streak! I repeat…it does not streak!
At last, I have found a nail polish that works well for me and is simple to
apply. Will never stop using it.
