Saltwater Happy is a beautifully unique powder blue that’s kissed with periwinkle and grey.
If you’re familiar with polish it’s as if Essie’s Bikini So Teeny and Lilacism (the older blue version) and Zoya’s Kristen had a love child.
Fresh, fun and a total standout without being over-the-top or stark. It’s undeniably flattering and in my opinion a year round type of shade.
Like others have mentioned, for an Essie the formula is phenomenal.. maybe a tad thick but definitely preferable to some of their other thin watery formulas. It is fully opaque in two coats.
I recommend this polish to all skin tones and complexions alike, it’s an awesome shade that’s completely worth it.

Holy moly, do I ever LOVE this shade! It’s really unlike anything in my polish collection (and although here on MUA, it may be considered small, to the average person, my NP collection is definitely on the larger side!).
This is a light, cheerful pastel blue with a greyish undertone. It is, in my opinion, very summery, which I adore! Plus the formula on this one is GREAT, especially for a pastel.
Pros:
– Formula is wonderful! One coat is mostly opaque, and a second coat is definitely all you need. Considering this is a pastel, this is quite impressive.
– It is brilliant and shiny, especially for a cream.
– Not streaky AT ALL, which again, since this is a pastel, is impressive.
– Beautiful colour that is pretty unique; there are a lot of pastel blues out there, but I’ve never seen or owned one quite like this.
– Inexpensive. This cost me about $7.99 CAD on sale at Loblaw (Superstore). Regular price was $8.99.
Cons:
– It is a bit thick and as a result, somewhat goopy. Be careful, apply in thin coats. Because this is so opaque, you don’t need any thick layers anyway.
Get this ASAP, because it’s LE! Don’t miss out 🙂

I freaking love this. My new favorite shade (one of my other favorites is SHXW Pacific Blue original formula). Paler and greyer than Bikini So Teeny. Completely on point for the summer pastel trend.

this is from the 2015 Essie summer collection. the first thing that surprised me about this polish is that i have no dupes.. or even close dupes in my collection! it is quite a bit more saturated than ‘find me an oasis’ and quite a bit lighter and more blue than ‘bikini so teeny’
the second thing that surprised me was the formula- and this is why i gave it the full 5 stars:
absolutely excellent!! especially for such a lighter colored polish.. two very easy coats for full opacity. good dry time, no stains, no pooling, no bubbles, good wear time.. the formula is perfection.
the color is a slightly toned-down light almost cornflower blue. there is like just half a drop of purple in there… just the very slightest hint of it. this color actually reminds me of my favorite cotton tee that i wear to bed in the summer. it is very soft and relaxing. i am on the pale side, so it does make me feel just a little washed out, but i don’t even care. looking at this color makes me feel instantly relaxed. the fact that the formula is so awesome and the color is unique in my collection bumps it up to my select few favorites.
i wouldn’t repurchase, but i would definitely recommend this polish to someone- esp someone with tan skin because i think it would look so much better.
