I have also found the pixie dust formula to be excessively drying, also the rough particles can snag in fabric and split the nail. I love all of Zoya’s regular glitter polishes though

Got this for half price during a recent sale. I like the less glitter packed Pixie Dusts and this fits the bill. It went on very easily. I can see where I might need to thin this in the future. I experimented and was able to get nails with extremely good coverage on one coat. It can also be applied thinly. I do think it looks better with 2 coats. I’ve had good luck with the lasting ability of Pixie Dusts. I love the color and sparkle on this polish. I usually top coat with SH Insta-Dri.
Would definitely recommend this polish!

Zoya “Dahlia” {Spring Pixiedust, Spring 2013} – black and silver texture
If there’s one thing I wish I’d gotten more of when they were new, it would definitely be Zoya’s Pixiedusts. If textured polish doesn’t make your skin crawl, the Pixiedusts were the best textured line. Of the few I actually got, “Dahlia” is one of my favorites.
“Dahlia” is really opaque in two coats and the silver glitter isn’t lost in the mix when it’s on the nail. It’s REALLY sparkly. It’s really got a sort of rock star edgy look that’s really something fun. It’s not a polish for the weak of heart. Like most textures, it dries real fast, so it’s a manicure you can do easily when you are in a rush.
What I like –
* Really sparkly!
* Dries fast.
* Pretty seasonless so you can wear it all year round.
What I don’t like –
* Pretty easily dupable.
Dupes: Nicole by OPI’s “A-Nise Treat” and Orly’s “Black Pixel” are awful close. Certainly don’t need all three; pick whichever one fits your budget best.
Would I buy it again? Definitely. I love this polish and every fleck of glitter in it.
Would I recommend it? If you don’t like texture, this isn’t going to win you over, but if you love it like I do, it’s a must have.

I love this polish. It’s a deep charcoal grey, close enough that you could call it black, with silver sparkles. The texture is, to me, pleasant, not gritty or gross the way a few textured polishes can be. I wasn’t bothered at all by it. It also wore like iron on my nails, and that was without a top coat.
I normally don’t wear the same polish for more than four or five days because I get bored with it, but in this case, I’d chosen it because I had broken a nail and also had a big social engagement (of course) so I fixed the nail with super glue and a cut up teabag. The surface of the nail, however, was uneven, because the patch was pretty big. I wanted a textured polish to hide the uneven surface of my nail, and this worked perfectly for that. I didn’t take it off for over a week because I knew when I did, I was going to completely lose that nail, but I was really surprised by how well this polish wore. Barely even any tip wear! I only took it off when I did because I was starting to get visible regrowth.
So as far as I’m concerned, this polish is definitely a winner. I like the colour, the sparkle, the wear time, the texture, all of it.

I AM OBSESSED WITH DHALIA
Zoya has become my favorite nail polish brand, even though I only own 4 of their polishes.
Pixie dust has the most unique texture, it’s rough like sandpaper but it doesn’t get caught on things and it is matte. Usually nail polishes don’t stay on me longer than 3 days, but Zoya’s Dhalia lasted whole 6 days, I am so impressed! I used it with base coat and WITHOUT top coat and I think it works great that way. I am in love with this polish.

I didn’t actually buy this product, but chose it as my polish for a salon manicure. I wanted to like it…I really did. The color is great, loved the subtle sparkle, but I just could not get over the weird texture. I couldn’t stop touching my nails, and not in a good way. I felt like my hands were coated in sandpaper. Like another reviewer said, the polish was very drying. I removed it a few days later (my manicurist told me to go before my polish had dried fully, so I had smudged a nail within five minutes of leaving the salon, and that was bugging me, too), and my nails were dry and brittle. If you use this polish, USE A BASE COAT to protect your nails, and if rough textures bother you, make sure to get a filling top coat.
It’s a good product, but just wasn’t for me.

This polish is beautiful on the hand and very interesting looking. In true Zoya form, application was effortless and smooth. My only gripe is that it dried my nails really bad. Even with using castor oil daily to moisturize, my nails began splitting and literally breaking off. I used it as directed, without base or top coat. Because I love the look of it, I gave it a 3. I’m going to try it with the top coat or over a black polish to see if the results are different. At the moment, I’m down to numb fingernails (because of this polish) so I’m apprehensive about trying it out again. I’ll update this review if/when I decide to use this again.

This is 1 of those new sugar-textured polishes that are the latest craze. I love glittery sparkle so I was interested in this. Dahlia is very similar to Milani One Coat Glitter ‘Silver Dazzle’ & Butter London ‘Gobsmacked’ but I now prefer Dahlia & would certainly buy it again (I eBayed mine for $8).
This Pixie Dust line comes in 5 other colors (red, beige, light grey, light periwinkle blue, mint green), which I’m now tempted to try based on Dahlia’s beauty – it’s an opaque black sandy-textured glimmery sparkle polish, truly like pixie dust on your fingertips. I love that it’s darker than the other 2 polishes I mentioned above. Dries matte w/soft sparkle (no topcoat) & deepens into a shiny black+silver glitter sparkle with topcoat (2-3 coats). I love that this polish can be worn both ways & looks great either way, though I’m particularly loving it matte right now. The gritty texture initially feels a bit awkward when the surface of my nails brush up against fabric (similar to the scratching-on-chalkboard feeling) but you soon get used to it.
Application is a dream – surprisingly easy to apply, non-messy, not goopy, easy cleanup as you go along, & only 1 coat is needed over a dark base color (2 coats if by itself). Multiple coats make the manicure too thick real fast. I can’t attest to the difficulty of removing this polish w/acetone b/c I don’t remove nailpolish the traditional way, so I don’t have the usual difficulty getting it off. But applying it is a happy breeze & it dries very quickly too. Love the subtle texture! Looking forward to scoring the red & beige colors next.
