Play The Peonies is a very sheer pinkish beige.I loved the color it just did not look good on my fair pale skin.Even my husband said he didn’t like it.No problems with streaking. Two coats is all you need.I probably will not use this again

I’ve been reaching for French Manicure esquire shades a lot lately. I purchased this shade when it was first released but at the time only really stuck to dark plummy shades. This shade is great. I have fair skin with a yellow undertone and it compliments my skin tone . The colour is a very light pearly pink. The texture is very pigmented and opaque and I personally don’t find it streaky. I also own Mimosas for Mr and Mrs and I will admit that it is quite tricky to apply but this one is much easier. I would recommend and I think it would be a great colour for brides!

I love OPI polish and peonies, but not this polish from the nice stems collection. The Hue was pretty, (think white pearl with a tint of pinkish lilac) the application was a pain. Streaks everywhere and the finish was strange, had a matte quality to it that wasn’t flattering… Next!

On my olive/yellow/tan Filipino skin, this is a lovely pale lilac. It has a hint of shimmer, and a dainty pearlescent quality about it that I find very elegant. It’s a good not-your-average neutral, and would be perfect for just about any occasion (I think). I think it would work especially well in the office or out to dinner. If you want something elegant but not in your face, this is perfect. The application and consistency is better than most. It only took two coats for me to get full opacity.

I’m surprised this varnish doesn’t have more reviews, it’s a gorgeous color. The perfect neutral color to have on your nails and toes. It makes your digits look so polished, but it’s not so subtle that it’s unnoticeable (I hate neutrals like that). I have fair to medium, yellow-toned skin and it looks great on my hands, and my feet are a little tanner than the rest of my body and it looks gorgeous on them as well. Applies really smoothly, I find that it reaches opacity with two thicker coats, or three thin ones.

Love this colour. It’s like a white with a touch of shimmery pink. Gorgeous neutral, would go wonderful with a tan. Good quality, as is standard with OPI polishes. I used three coats, but definitely could have gotten away with two.

This is a pretty (but very pale!) pink, similar to Suzi and the Lifeguard but I do prefer it as it doesn’t have the blue-ish undertones of SATL. I love the Nice Stems collection (not a huge fan of pinks but do like the colours in NS!)
This shade has an elegance that I wasn’t expecting and looks great, even on my pale skin.
The only fault I found was it seems to take a while to dry. 2-3 coats needed to reach opacity. Definitely worth buying though.

Play the Peonies is a lovely addition to my neutral collection of polishes. Even though I have fair skin with pink undertones, this still works for me and surprisingly doesn’t make my hands look weird (even though I think tanner skinned-gals would pull this off even more beautifully). This is by far one of the lightest pinks I own. It’s at least two shades lighter than your average ‘baby pink’. I didn’t even know it was pink until I painted it on my nails. In the bottle, it looks (to me) like the lightest cashmere beige with white shimmer. I achieved bottle color (but with the pink tones! Lol) in two thin, streak-free coats. Smooth formula, not glittery in the slightest. This is one of those polishes that makes my hands and fingers look ‘elongated,’ and I have very small hands and my nails are on the short side (I rarely wear acrylics), so some polishes (vampy and dark, or extremely light; doesn’t matter) tend to make them look even smaller and make my fingers look stubbier than they really are. This is a very classic, work-appropriate shade that would go with almost anything accessory-wise: white gold, gold or silver jewelry. Definitely glad I picked this one up!
