I picked up Petal Obsession when it went on clearance a few months ago. This baby pink creme was originally released for late summer/fall 2014 collection called Film Noir. This is a pretty pastel baby pink polish and it dries to a chalky matte finish. The formula on this is crap. It is thin and drips and so I was trying to do thin coats, but it goes on streaky and even with a 3 stroke method it balds when you try to sweep from the center to the sides. My first 2 coats were as thin as I could do and it’s a patchy streaky disaster! I had to add a third thick coat and just float it on to avoid balding and patchiness. This is a really nice polish color but it is not worth the application nightmare. No wonder this was in the clearance bin! It’s taken me 4 coats total to cover the balding and give a mostly even finish but I am unhappy with it 🙁 I am really disappointed and I am a polish lover with an obsession and if I find fault with a polish and find it unworkable then you know it’s bad. I will work with just about anything but this was a disaster from the first stroke. I am tempted to remove it and start again and see if I can manage it, because I have seen some lovely swatches on line from various bloggers but it’s such a pain in the patootie, Even blogger reviews on this one state they used 4 coats! I don’t think it’s worth my effort. I ended up adding a glitter topper to cover this mess and not have to redo my mani. It’s just a baby pink and I’m sure I can find a baby pink to dupe this with a much better formula. Even on sale, this is not worth it to me. Sorry FingerPaints, but this is a disastercure! I liked the matte finish though. It looks like colored chalk and feels like a great spring/summer shade and I am ready for spring which is why I pulled this out for use.In my photo you’ll see 4 coats. What a mess. I should have shown you the first two coats as sadly, this is a 100% improvement from what it started as. It looked like a crackle on the first two layers. Seriously it was that bad. Don’t waste your time with this one. It’s not a healthy relationship.
