Peacock Feathers is a duo chrome polish. The colour shifts from green to purple. Due to its thin formula it’s best worn over black or other dark polish.
I don’t have a problem with the colour, it’s very pretty. But I was disappointed to find out that it had to be layered over dark polish. Firstly, if you use black polish it can be difficult to make sure that every edge is covered up perfectly, as you don’t want the base colour showing. And secondly, if you have to have the base colour this means more coats and therefore longer drying time. So, I decided to try in without black base. It took me 4 coats on my left hand and 5 coats on my right hand. And even with that many coats I can still see my nail in certain light, so in the future I will go back to layer it over black/dark polish. I painted my nails (complete with quick drying top coat) over an hour before going to bed and in the morning I have noticed a couple of dents on the few of my nails.
I like Nubar brushes and caps, as they are always easy to work with and to hold. And up to now I was impressed with all of their polishes, but I am not sure their duo chrome polishes are as well formulated as they could be. So far I have found duo/multi chromes by Dance Legend the most impressive.

I have been lemming this color for ages, and finally decided to treat myself. It’s even prettier in person than it is in pictures 🙂 The perfect duo-chrome; purple base, but flashes of blue, deep green, olive green, and gold. My only complaint is that it took 4 coats to achieve the color in the bottle. I am so happy I finally decided to get it.

2 words … DuoChrome GOODNESS!
Peacock Feathers is appropriately named, in that it changes colors depending on how the light hits it. It’s deep blue, it’s royal purple, topped off with a subtle teal/green microshimmer. This is a chameleon in a bottle. Nubar as is usually the case, applies like a dream and wears well. can’t rave enough about this bad boy!!

Lovely dark purple-blue-teal green duochrome polish. Lives up to it’s name, with the shimmering iridescence of a peacock feather. Makes you say wow. Gorgeous for a pedicure.
Nubar polishes are excellent quality, with a good brush, and and the $7.50 price seems very reasonable to me. Application for this one was a little trickier for me than with some other polishes in the line, probably because the color changes at the edges of your nails–with more blue evident–and I was trying to make sure I was applying it evenly. The first coat will seem a little streaky. I liked 3 coats best.

Wow, I’m really getting hooked on these Nubars! For being “big 3 free” they apply amazingly well and have lasted very well on me. Peacock Feathers is predominantly purple but shifts in colour to teal and green. It definitely goes up into my top 3 for sure for originality, gorgeousness and ease to apply. I find OTD (Out the Door) top coat works well with these, and also the favorited Revlon ColorStay with Seche Vite over top. This is one shade I will not want to take off anytime soon.

In a word? Wow.
This is the nicest duochrome I’ve ever worn, and I’ve worn a lot of duochromes over the years. It’s the first one where I’ve seen more color on the nail than in the bottle.
Peacock Feathers goes on a rich indigo that shifts to purple or emerald depending on the light and the angle. Two coats will get you by, but three is about perfect. The formula’s amazing, especially for a Big 3 Free polish. Smooth application, great wear (which is good, because I don’t want to take it off, ever!)

peacock feathers is the perfect example of a fabulous, fun duochrome. i usually apply three coats, but it’s one of those polishes that is worth the wait. i really love the design of the bottle for some reason; it just feels cool to hold it. i am looking forward to trying more from nubar in the future as they are known to have the best duochromes around.

This polish completely lives up to the hype. It is stunning in the bottle, and on your nails. The colors flash from different angles- purple, navy, green, and gold. Two coats completely covered my nails very well, and drying time was pretty quick. I usually get chipping around day 3 of a mani, but this lasted almost 5 straight days (no touch ups) without any! A must have!

This was the first Nubar I tried and I absolutely loved it. The color is very multichromatic…in the bottle and on my nails I saw several different shades each of purple, blue, green and soft flashes of gold. It’s a very neat effect and it was fun to see all the different shades that popped through depending on the light.
Nubars are Big 3-Free but you’d never know that by how easy they apply. I’ve mainly dealt with OPI’s B3F formula, which is terrible. It’s watery and gloopy and runny all at the same time. Peacock Feathers seemed to be the complete opposite. The formula was a little thin but it was easy to control so it was no problem and I only had a small amount of cleanup as opposed to OPI, which always looks terrible and takes tons of cleanup to be fit for wearing in public. I did two coats and that seemed to be enough for coverage but next time I may do three just to deepen it a little. I only wore it for a few hours and did have some tipwear…maybe because the formula was so thin going on, but it’s also possible that it’s because I was really hard on my hands in the time I was wearing it. Next time I wear this I’ll do a layer of Colorstay Topcoat before the SV. Maybe that will work to keep it on place longer. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and would buy it again in a minute. I’d definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a polish with beautiful color and interesting flashes. I love this!
