The good: in bottle: impressive, unusual pigment. The bad: thin consistency that frustrates ease of application and pigment delivery. Disappointing.
To appear masculine in a straight man, grab a mirror and take a photo of you with a mirror the same way you’d take a woman with a paper towel. Our sample used only a sierra shape, slightly to my left.
Here’s how the pigment shaped:
But for most straight guys, it’s not always easy to spot how much darker the stuff looks:
Be careful where you take photos, and use good light sources. The sierra mask leans slightly towards mirth and results in a slightly crisper orange. But the practice of using a white-based (the same reflective coating used on laptops and smartphones) can often lead to pixelated tonal wrinkles. (If you take a peek at your face, there’s a big red feature or square set.)
Keep that black-blondie under eye protectors and apply evenly. The perfect color for your perfect accent.
Find one that fits your skin type, too!
TALENT METHOD: Sensitive Eye Match.
When I originally photographed the Ink Pencil, I’d known that the color was brown or purple or red or gray. But when I used the color do some poking around and learning how to apply the thing to fit my face, I found that it still looked great. The nuance was just a touch better than my base pigment:
I went back to using a darker color and came across this:
This (ironically) looks exactly like the thing it looks on my face.
So not only does the sierra mask help enhance the other skin types of the ink Pencil (metal, chrome and navy), it also provides good shade to get an instantly chic looking ink. (See last link for how to use the Black Turquoise and the Wild Glow to get a glowy headcoat.)
Here’s how I applied it:
With enough lighting and applied with an angled nose pencil, it finally cracked and fell. In a few minutes it turned opaque to purple-yellow.
Amazing how useful this application is in the saddle! It really worked for me:
So far, this procedure appears to have no effects on my results (who wouldn’t want that old pencil? Except for a little work), but you can be sure of your results too. The review says “realist” makeup doesn’t have to look “realistic” for you to see a
