I really liked this polish however none of these chrome polishes last very long. Unfortunately it got lost and I bought one from the Model’s Own brand that lasts for even less time.
Also, be warned, that they don’t look exactly like chrome. They are not as reflective as say, stickers.

You have to be really fast and good at painting your nails to make it look nice.
If you don’t paint your nails on in the least amount of strokes the paint will drag since it is a different formula from the normal polishes.
That being said, since it is a different formula as it is metallic, this one tends to chip more easily than the standard Essie polishes. It lasted me about 4 days before it started to chip.
But it really is a lovely polish! I love the metallic line. You literally only need one coat for this polish.

This is my favorite nail polish ever!! It has everything I want in a polish. It’s opaque after one coat, fast drying, not streaky, and really beautiful. It can be a little hard to apply since it’s so fast drying, but if you work quickly it should be fine. I’d recommend a good base coat with this one. Like most essie polishes, it’s long lasting, but obviously this will vary depending on your top/base coat and how often you work with your hands. If you’re looking for a silver, you can’t go wrong with this one.

The review below mine is spot on. This polish shows EVERY single flaw so you have to make sure that your nails are top notch prior to applying this and be sure to use an excellent base coat. I bought it because I saw a picture of a girl supposedly wearing it on Pinterest and in that picture it looked like pure metal. Once I applied it, even with a shiny topcoat, it didn’t look as stunning. I actually like Zoya’s polish in Trixie MUCH better.

This is a nice, bright, true metallic polish. It’s a grey-based silvery colour, well-named as chrome. Might have a slightly blue undertone, because it brings out the blue veins in my pale, cool-toned hands for some reason (I’m guessing it’s a blue undertone doing it).
Application is quite tricky, and you really have to work quickly with your strokes. Too many and the polish drags and leaves bald spots. This polish also shows every little line and bump in the nail bed. Base coat will help, but for some, it will take two coats of base or a good ridge filler to really allow this polish to be smooth. I didn’t have a lot of trouble with brush marks, surprisingly, but I did have trouble with the polish creasing and wrinkling when I added top coat, and some issues with dragging, so I advise giving plenty of time between coats to dry.
But, to be honest, I bought this to use as a special effects polish for things like the half-moon in a half-moon manicure, for doing bright, silvery tips, as a base for nail art designs, and for using with Konad-style stamping plates, rather than to wear as a full manicure. For the purposes I have in mind, this polish is perfect.
Good polish, very happy to add this to my collection.

While I like the colour it’s not one that I use often. It’s difficult to match to clothes and limits accessory choices. It’s nearly impossible to put on smoothly and even and even the slightest slip or mess up it looks terrible. It also takes 2-3 coats before the colour shows up on my nails. I found that even with a top coat it chipped quickly. Also doest really work with my fair skin with pinky undertones. It has the same great quality as other Essie polishes though, it is consistent with the rest of the brand’s product quality. My problem is the colour it’s self, I have no complaints about the quality.

This polish requires some skill and GOOD SMOOTH nails. Would I buy this again? No. Will I continue to use up the bottle? Probably. First of all the color is fantastic funky futuristic! It is tin foil hats for nails! The color is the exact same as the non-shiny side of aluminum foil. Now let me tell why I wouldn’t repurchase this. I haven’t had acrylics on for the past two years. However, I still have damage on my two thumb nails from picking away at the acrylic and ripping it off. The resulting damage is a rough surface with deep ridges. This shade being very metallic, it doesn’t layer well on my thumb nails. No matter how many times I try to perfect it, it always comes out swirly 🙁 I do use a great base so it is not that. Plus, my other nails look nice. Also, I find this to be a “trend” shade. It doesn’t go with many looks. It’s LOUD. It clashes with my skin. But, still a fun color.

I really like this color but I find it extremely chipping and so streaky.

Love this chrome polish! I’ve found it’s not too bad with streaking. Probably would be better with a ridge filler, esp on my ring finger nails because they’re pretty bad for it, but overall I like the finish it gives. Was completely opaque in ONE coat, but I did two just to make it last longer. My favourite silver polish.

I bought this color because I love metallic, especially with my olive skin tone, it really pops. The thing about metallic colors is that it suits just about anyone, so you can imagine, I was pretty excited to open my first bottle of Essie metallic nail polish. In short, I was severely disappointed. This polish is very streaky, and if you have any ridges or flaws in your nails, they will show through with this polish. The first coat is easy enough to apply, but as soon as you get to the second, it becomes splotchy and a big mess. Unless you are an absolute expert at apply nail polish, and even then, I would not recommend this polish. For $11 a bottle, the quality is outrageously bad. I am finding this with a lot of Essie nail polishes lately. The plain, solid colors all are amazingly easy to apply, but as soon as their is a hint of shimmer or anything metallic, the polish gets streaky. If you are looking for metallic polishes, I am sure there are a lot of other silvers out there that are far cheaper, and have equal or better application than “No Place Like Chrome.”
