Navy Baby is a glossy navy blue creme SH Salon Nail Lacquer (the premium SH line in the square bottles). It is rather thick and super pigmented, and application was a bit tricky. In a trial swatch, I found it too dark for my taste when I did two coats–making it look too close to black in interior light. But I was able to apply this slowly & *carefully* in a pedi (don’t get too much on the brush at once) and got full coverage with just one coat– resulting in the true dark navy I wanted.
Gorgeous pedi topped with Northern Lights holographic top coat!!
If I can find a navy creme in one of my favorite lines (OPI, Nubar), I don’t think I’d repurchase, due to the thick formula of this polish. (This line sells for around $6.50 US a bottle, $1-$2 more than other SH polishes.) Still, if you need this color in your collection, I can recommend giving it a try, especially since a savvy shopper can watch for drug store BOGO & other sales & get this at a good price (I got it during a Walgreen’s sale at 40% off). I might try adding a drop of np thinner to the bottle next time to see if it improves the application.
*follow-up note: found a photo comparison on thenailphile.blogger.com that shows that Navy Baby is an almost exact dupe for Dior’s (limited edition) Poison Blue..
