If I were rating this nail polish only on richness of color and ease of application, it would be a solid five, no question. The color is gorgeous; one of the best reds in my collection. It applies very easily and when finished, looks great.
BUT…it started to seriously chip in just three days! Even with a base and top coat. And I do not normally have a problem with polish chipping — for example, a manicure with Zoya polish lasted 10 days with only the very slightest chips and those didn’t show up until day 8. So for staying power, I give this Mavala polish only a 1 or 1.5 — and that’s why it has a 3.0 rating overall.
I’ll still wear Mavala, but only in lighter colors where chips aren’t so glaringly obvious.

Mavala rocks! I am such a nail-polish junkie & I have a whole lot of ’em but these mavala mini ones are my all-time favorite! The colors are amazing! Especially this red one called Ankara is superb among red hues! They stand the test of time, preserving day one quality. There will be none of those bubbles & the colors stand really even & shiny! Do give it a try! & one other good thing about ’em is their size! Not too much to eventually go dry in your drawer! Just the right amount & it still lasts a long time!

The perfect warm red … the consistency after a while however is not as good . But the colour is so elegant that i dont mind the consistency.

A dark, cool creme red with purple undertones. Had expected a little more “raspberry-ish” tones judging from the colour in the bottle, though, so was a little disappointed at first after two coats. But the colour has grown on me and I think it will be a staple red come fall. As regards Mavala’s formula, on my nails it doesn’t last as long as my favourite Opi polishes. Plus the polish gets gloopy in the bottle pretty fast. But at a very reasonable price it’s still recommended.

I love this color! It’s dark purpled red and it makes me think of ripe, juicy plums. I love the fact that Mavala uses city names for their nailpolishes, and must say they did a good job matching Ankara with this color – mysterious yet so beautiful. The bottle is great too, small enough not to have a chance to dry out before most of it’s been used.
