Vanity Fairest is a sheer milky white-pink shade of polish laced with very fine and subtle silver shimmer. The shimmer is not visible unless looking very closely at the nail, but it does increase the polish’s shine, especially when it hits the light. As this is a sheer polish, I find that I get the best look with 2 coats. It applies easily and is not streaky – great for a sheer! It is easy to work with, dries quickly and to a shiny finish. My nails have a pink-white cast and lovely shine. You can still see the nail line though, but the overall look is very clean, polished and chic. I can see why this is such a popular bridal colour! It would also suit workplace or conservative environments, or just give your nails a lovely finish without a bright pop of colour. This is definitely one of the better lasting sheers I have tried, and one of my most long-wearing Essie polishes – Vanity Fairest lasts a whole week when paired with base and top coat! This is a very long time for a nail polish (at least on my nails!). I love the chic subtlety of this shade, and the hidden shimmer gives it a little twist. I will definitely reach for this, it is a reliable shade in my collection.

A lovely sheer polish, perfect for the office or for those days you don’t want coloured nails. This slightly sparkly polish applies easily and is a perfect “my nails but better” in 2 coats. Vanity Fairest is similar in colour to Ballet Slippers but without the application problems! Highly recommended! 🙂

Absolutely love this sheer pink polish. I’m a big Essie fan, but the truth is that when it comes to the sheer pinks and whites, it can really be hit or miss. Ballet Slippers is a perfect example of that- what a streaky disaster. Sorry, but any formula that requires 3 coats to be remotely even is just too high-maintenance for me. Yet I absolutely LOVE Mademoiselle, and this one is another win for me. This has a similar color to Ballet Slippers, yet it’s completely self-leveling at only 2 coats. The first coat is a bit too sheer and a touch streaky, but unlike Ballet Slippers, when you paint on the second coat it just evens out perfectly. There is a VERY subtle fine shimmer in the formula, but it’s really only slightly noticeable in direct sunlight. I am throwing away the Ballet Slippers and using this one from now on. Highly recommend.

Love this polish! Wore it on my wedding day on my fingers and toes and it was perfect-neutral with a tiny bit of shimmer that makes it look a bit more special than your standard ‘my nails but better’ polish. Was a great little gift for my sister and Mum who also wore it on the day.
I also find it great for everyday wear at work for a polished, professional look. I wear two coats with a base and top coat and I get a good 5 days wear before it starts looking tired. Doesn’t go on streaky, which I found Essie’s Ballet Slippers did.
I don’t tend to finish nail polishes (as I’m a bit of an addict and have far too many!) but this is one that I’ll be repurchasing.

Very nice for everyday, very natural. With top coat, lasts 4-5 days. You need 2 coats.

Beautiful neutral-pink sheer with micro-shimmer. Looks beautifully polished, clean and professional. Not too pink, girly or cute. Two medium coats provides my ideal sheer coverage. For me, does not streak upon application and self-smooths for a even colour and texture across the nail. I really like that. The colour elegantly lengthens the fingers, since the opaque polish continues your skin tone right to the tips. I love that too! I top coat all my nail polishes every 2-3 days, this colour can go on a week-and-a-half, and chips are barely noticeable due to the subtle colour. I’ll definitely repurchase this product.

I was trying to find Revlon’s Sheer Blossom but this is a similar color to it.
There’s a bit of glitter from looking at the bottle which made me buy this (love glitter)
This is a bit sheer(3 coats to see the color on the bottle) compared to Sheer Blossom but it’s a great color.
Would try the other color since this is a great polish
Love the bottles of Essie polishes!

I love this polish! I normally stick with nudes in the fall and winter. I was looking for a nude that looked like I had a professional manicure. I didn’t want mannequin nails, and I didn’t want overdone pink or white nails. Pink wanted something classy and pretty. I found it with this polish. It’s simple’ classy, pretty, and goes with every thing I wear. If you’re looking for a classy understated polish, I suggest this polish. It wasn’t streaky and looks good with two to three coats. I used more than two because I had fun polishing my nails this color. It is sheer, but has a pretty sheen to it. I really like it.

A pretty slightly shimmery sheer pink which I thought could be HG material but is way too sheer for my liking. I used four coats of this and it is still so sheer that I can see my discolored nails underneath. It reminds me a little of a Mally polish called Mally’s Baby in that it has a sparkle to it when the light catches it, but the Mally polish is a HG for me as it is opaque in just 2 coats. I will probably use up Vanity Fairest but won’t repurchase. If it were more opaque then it would be a re-buy for sure.

Way too sheer. Couldn’t get it to show up at all even after 2-3 coats. There’s way better ‘my nails but better’ polishes out there.
