This is my favorite green-family polish. It’s a dark, greyed, blue-green creme. It’s the best. I’m NC10-15, and it’s so lovely on me. I disagree w/ the reviewer who says it is almost black, but that is in the eye of the beholder: to me almost black is SH ‘Pat on the Black.’ Or to a lesser extent, the original Chanel Rouge Noir/Vamp from ’94.
Back to this: Mind Your Mittens is quite opaque, but I still need 2 coats. I love how it is greyed enough in undertone to look sophisticated yet modern and slightly edgy (when you’re in your late 40s at least). I get so many compliments on this color.
To give an idea, OPI’s CIA is about as dark as MYM , but a little brighter (less greyed; which I also love, but on my toes); Essie Styleonamics is about as dark as MYM w/o the blue undertone, and less grey.

This and Shearling Darling are my new favorites- both out of Winter 2013. This color is a gorgeous Navy with Hunter/Lichen green undertones. I normally don’t wear blue or green tones because they make my hands look sickly, but this is simply gorgeous. It’s very dark- from far far away it could look black. But the color stands out the closer you get. Love it- will repurchase.

Mind your mittens is a very opaque dark blue-green. It almost looks black indoors, but shows to be a dark blue with a touch of green outdoors.
It applies so nicely, almost like a gel polish, very thick and creamy but not gooey.
You can easily get away with one coat with this polish. One looks like two. Two coats looks amazing.
Another great Essie polish! This will be perfect for winter!

Essie’s Winter 2013 Collection, “Shearling Darling,” was the first collection in a long time (ever?) that I bought half the collection immediately. Loved the namesake polish, Mind Your Mittens and Sable Collar. Need! Want!
In the swatches I saw online, Mind Your Mittens appears to be a beautiful grey leaning navy creme. Couldn’t wait to get my mitts on these Mittens! Found a bottle on a blog sale and since Walgreens wasn’t coming through for me, I went ahead and purchased it. And this is where my troubles began. I didn’t have a bottle to look at prior to purchase so when it arrived I was shocked at how dark it really is. I’m not a fan of polishes that are so dark they look black. If I wanted to wear black, I would purchase black. I want to wear blue or green or red so I really like it when they wear as blue or green or red. Essie isn’t the only polish company out there doing this (producing polish that presents as black) and I’m getting tired of the ones that do. The only saving grace was I used an overcoat (Butter London’s Petrol) and that pulled the blue front and center. Application is back to smooth, coverage could be a one-coater although I’m programmed to do at least 2 and my experience with wear for Essie has always been “wears like iron.”
Essie — I love a good vampy polish, but when it looks like black I have no reason to purchase it.
