This is a really beautiful shade of cool brown/taupe and works well for fall or winter. It’s a bolder neutral that works for the office but also for more dressy occasions. It has a thin brush that’s easy to use and the colour is opaque in two coats. As much as I love the colour, it chips within a couple of days and doesn’t have great longevity. I find this to be the case with many Essie polishes though.
Chinoqua ($1.30)[/u] Chinoqua’s Blue Haze is very bright and has an opaque brush that you use for an afternoon. It has a medium-filler texture and shines a light yellow on the lips. It dries evenly over a period of about 1 to 2 weeks. It is not ideal for those days where you want to skimp on the consistency of your lipstick but for everyday use, it will do fine. I was pleasantly surprised how gentle it was for my wife.
Scissor ($2)[/u] It is a combination of red haze with orange haze. It has a medium-filler texture and is porous in two coats. It can absorb through two to three weeks and is very easy to apply and easy to pull out with one stick. It has a thick brush and is ideal for softer lids. The smoothness in its colour is good but if you don’t want to go too on the powdery side, it won’t hold up. I found it to hold water and dissolved well on a regular basis. I would highly recommend using this rather than your typical daytime cream of bright pink.
Macariako ($2.90)[/u] This lipstick is a bit more dark at it’s peak and is quite porous in its first couple weeks. It has medium-filler and provides slightly larger pigments than my previous NYX shade. This means that it will hold on for longer or if you really want to stick to the main product. It seems to be a medium to dark matte with a slightly rosy finish that lasts for three weeks. If you don’t need it to hold water, it’s fine if you don’t want to go too on the powdery side. The single-chain Concealer is, quite simply, gorgeous and is absolutely ideal for applying red lipstick or your very own beauty primer. It also has a matte finish which should last through several weeks of use.
Shopping suggestion – here are the sizes I would recommend applying lipsticks with this new shade.

Gorgeous color. Soft but bold, neutral but versatile. It’s a cool-toned grey-brown with purple undertones, and on my extremely pale hands, it’s dark enough to be bold and noticeable without being too much. It is perfect for fall and winter, but I’m not too much of a stickler for coordinating shades and seasons myself.
Drying time is good, as with most other Essie polishes, and the brush makes application smooth and easy. I love, love, love this color.

Very lovely brown/grey/taupe color for the fall. Very chic and stays on for 4-5 days with top-coat. Looks better with 2 coats.
Rated 5 out of 5 by DrWretch from Perfect touch and comfortable purchase I’m very happy with this product, which gives me the ability to wear it under a hood or over it.
Rated 5 out of 5 by LuzShaid from Nice and Surprisingly Effective I started this product and so far my wife and I have bought both Tii Fabola Monise and Kodak D800 YKK yarn and it worked out so well. I kept all the the essentials under wraps so it could do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Ultra Reliable I recently bought a wool scarf the hood not only on The Mountain but it’s also on hold as my CW ac valve arrives and is shot.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from No complaints I have used everything from the 4X4 for some years now to the new FW2000 and the wrap makes me feel very snug and serene. It takes about 6-8 hours to fully tighten up a scarf and it’s very easy to store up in the house or store for self service.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smoke from Great stitch line! The knitted cut gets ripped with ease – no stitches needed on my skein
Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Felt super comfortable I am 100% sure that this will work for all of my crochet in the, river-head stash for the winter of 2015 and 2016. With the new line I felt pretty comfortable at the idea that it worked so well for both my brow/foot/ass with minimal wear…and ease of wear.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Finished. Perfect size for every half inch I have on my feet/heads because of the long fabric. For at least 7 inches it’s comfortable. Very just fold it to 7, makes it easy to pry the outer edge open in an easy way with your hands. Everything you need, from cut-up markers, back proof bars, a

Like not love this polish. It is a muted greige purple color. Not sure why people say it looks black in the dark because no way shape or form does this lean black. A very muted purple mulberry brown grey color. Pretty for fall or winter but not my favorite which is Essie Smokin hot or velvet voyeur which are both much darker… Velvet voyeur can lean black but this one is not even close. Has a purple tinge to it in some light. A very pretty neutral color With a bit of edge to it IMO. Would buy again for the fall/winter months if I ran out and needed a break From my dark vampy colors!!!!! UPDATE10-16-17… kinda love this now. Great for fall months that are hott in San Diego. Love the plum under tones of these deep rich color mixed with brown neutral tones. Glad I tried it again. I think I may buy a back up!!!!!

Beautiful fall shade, looks very elegant. Easy to apply, two coats are fine. I really like it, would recommend and repurchase.

This color is a purple/gray shade. It is a muted color that is not very bright but still pretty. I love essie polishes but I feel like this one is a little thick and because the color is on the bland side I never wear it 🙁

This is a lovely medium taupe-grey. The finish is slightly glossy, which I like. I wish it had just a touch more purple in it, then it would be perfect for me. I am not much of a nail polish-wearer so I just applied 2 coats. No base coat, no top coat. Didn’t chip for 3 days, which is good IMO.

This is a gorgeous grey purple. It’s like a berry taupe I guess, hard to explain. It suits cool toned people best in my opinion because it’s very cool.
This is great for me on my fair cool skin. It’s not harsh like black or how some vampy colors get on me. It’s very classy and flattering and I love it.

Interesting & unusual shade. I’m very fair, and from a distance it almost looks black or very dark grey/purple. I like it on its own or with a sheer shimmery topcoat that can bring out different elements of the shade. In most light, on me, it’s quite purple, even though it’s definitely in the grey family. Best if you have cool-toned skin and/or wear a lot of cool colours; otherwise, it will clash. In the bottle it looks quite neutral, but that purple cast is very cool and very noticeable.
Like my other Essie polishes, the formula seems thin and streaky, but after a moment any streaks or ridges seem to flow right out and it dries flawlessly. This particular polish stays very shiny and lasts a few days without topcoat, which is handy.

This polish is one of my favorites. The color itself suits very well with very fair skin, or olive/tan skin. I would not recommend it for those with a darker complexion as the darkness is not complementary. However, this polish is one my favorites in terms of application. I have been finding with a lot of Essie polishes lately that the finished product is streaky, and slow to dry. “Merino Cool” however is a wonderful mixture. The polish does not chip easily, and does not require a top or base coat. I especially love this polish because I am not that great in terms of application of polish, yet the lacquer looks amazing and shiny on my nails. I would definitely recommend this polish to people who are desperately searching for an easy-to-apply nail polish. I’m definitely going to be buying this polish again when it runs out!
