i so wanted to like this one, because it seems like a good every day color. but on my cooler undertones it looks slightly brick-like and makes my hands look like… like i’m not alive anymore, basically. wore it twice and that was it.

I LOVE this shade! I just started becoming a mauve-color fan and I discovered this at Target for fun and it’s lovely. It compliments well with my fair skin and doesn’t look like Barbie pink. I apply two coats to give it a richer color, personally. One coat is a little bit more sheer, but still a nice, flirty look.

This is a brown based rose shade that is opaque in one coat, if applied more on the heavy side. I like this with the gel top coat to give it a high gloss shine finish. The shade itself is very flattering against my skin tone. An especially beautiful shade for the fall but can be worn anytime of year. I wish Essie polishes had a wider paddle style brush applicator but aside from that, the vast number of shades by this brand always has something to meet your mood. I find them a little on the pricey side, so generally purchase only when on sale. They wear about as long as any other polish outside of getting a professionally done gel/shellac polish.

I saw this on a patient at work, and immediately knew that I had to have it! It’s the perfect neutral for the office, but dark enough that it’s not so boring. I usually try to buy $3 Sally Hansen nail polish because I’m budget-conscious, so whenever I buy $9+ nail polish like Essie or OPI, I make sure it’s worth the money. This is definitely one of those colors that I don’t mind spending extra on. I will continue to re-purchase long as long as Essie keeps making it!

A lovely old rose colour, very flattering on my fair skin. Opaque in one stroke and with a top coat on top it stays put for three days, which is perfect in my book because I got a job where my hands are suffering sometimes and I do my nails every two to three days.

In Stitches is my 2nd Essie polish (Cute as a Button was my 1st), and I’m sure it’s going to be an ever growing collection.
The colour is gorgeous on my pale skin tone. It’s a bit vampy without being too goth, and lady-like without being too fluffy and cute. On my nails it looks like a deep dusky wine/rose colour. Somewhere between pink and red but softly muted and grown-up.
As I’ve learnt from Essie polishes, the quality is top notch and it takes forever to chip. It goes on effortlessly and looks ace even with 1 coat.

This polish is a muted red/pink shade. It looks nice with 2 coats, is easy to apply, and lasts a long time without chipping. I found this polish easier to use than some Essies. I didn’t think it looked great with my skin tone, so I gave it to my mother, who has warmer skin. It looks nicer on her. On her it’s more pink/mauve, and on me it’s more of a dull red.

I’ve only just got into polishes in the last year or so, and blazing red scares me.
This is the perfect next-step from my regular go-to neutral/pastels (I dig cute) to widening my colour palette. One-coat was all I needed for the colour pay-off I was hoping for. It has been lasting well (with a top-coat) and I keep looking at my hands and loving what I see.

Pretty! This is the color I’ve been looking for. It says “Yes, I am definitely wearing colour on my nails because no I am not uber-conservative, but my nails are not screaming at you either”.
It sits in the sweet spot between grandma (mauvy-brown) and harlot (rabid red) :). It’s a mauvy-rose, or a rosy-mauve, depending on the light you are viewing it in. Opaque in two coats. Drying time average. Chip-resistance quite good.
This will probably now be a regular go-to color for me.

One of my very favourite Essie colours. Perfect for the fall, as it is quite neutral. It is a pink-brown mix that is quite matte, and looks lovely with any sort of make up (except perhaps rainbow eyeshadow… not much looks good with that.) This is my third time wearing the polish, and each time I find I like it more and more. It looks great with one coat, and even better with two. I put the Luxe Effects “A Cut Above” on top, and it really adds a bit of glitz and glam to my nails. Great effect to add to this colour. I would easily repurchase this colour and recommend it to my friends! I work in Cosemtics and I constantly have clients comment on what a nice colour I have on my nails! Don’t forget to pair it with a base and top coat, I recommend that with ANY polish, no matter how “good” or “expensive”
