I’m not a fan of many Essie polishes, mostly because the older formulas seemed to be streaky and I hated the tiny brush. However, one thing Essie does well is their limited edition sparkly, glitter, or halo/iridescent polishes. One of the most popular a few years back around the holidays was ‘beyond cozy’, which I bought a second bottle because its rare and so beautiful.
I love the new wide brush! The Geodes collection is so neat, neutrals with a pop of sparkle. I grabbed Stop, Look, and Glisten online because no one seemed to carry these in-store. Its a very neutral, cool grey toned brown, more grey than I realized once dry, because of all the glitter! It applied like a dream, the formula is a little thick with all the sparkle, but its not rough or gritty and dries super smooth. It does need 2 coats, doesn’t run to the nailbed, and also dries quite matte/flat looking for something with so much sparkle. I like it, as the matte look tones down the sparkle and helps it look very every day, but a clear top coat would fix that. You can see the halo and sparkles easily, but know it pulls very grey brown once dry. Nice color if you want something earthy, but not flat, and not too dark on the nail. Cant speak for wear time, as I normally am rough with my hands and most polishes don’t last too long for me, but I don’t mind.
