Ski Slope Sweetie is part of the Mariah Carey Holiday Collection from several years ago. In three coats it is completely opaque for me and I always wear it with OPI My Favorite Ornament on my pinky. Just love that combination and it’s perfect for this time of year. More gold than white, it’s a shimmer with very fine sparkle in it. I noticed as I was applying my HK Girl top coat, that the top coat really brought the polish to another level. Before my very eyes the very fine sparkle was catching the light and it was holo! Very faint, but holo non the less, the top coat just drew it out. Still available at sparklecanada.com as is My Favorite Ornament.

I fell in love with this polish last year. I checked Ulta and I guess Ski Slope Sweetie was one of their popular colors. I guess they were sold out quickly. I found it on Amazon for a low price a few weeks ago with free shipping. I decided to buy it and found it in the mailbox on Friday. This polish is opaque in 3 coats and dries fairly quickly . It is a whitish – gold polish on the nail and sparkles in the sunlight. I have been wearing it since Friday night and have received a few compliments on the color. I love how it looks and will be wearing it often. It would look good with a white base underneath or with a glittery gold accent nail like OPI’s My Favorite Ornament.

I like this nail polish on it’s own (2 coats) for a subtle gold effects, but I LOVE this polish layered of a opaque white (2 coats). Because then, it looks exactly likes it’s bottle color, only less jelly. The only downside is that I personally don’t like to wear 5 coats of polish (base coat, 2 thick layers of white, thin layer of ski slope sweetie, topcoat) because it’s chips more easily and the drying time is quite long.
but I absolutely love how it looks

Ski Slope Sweetie is a snowy golden white polish new for holiday 2013 from the Mariah Carey collection. In the bottle it looks like fallen snow with a golden cast. On the nail it is much more sheer and it takes 4 coats to get the look I wanted. I still had visible nail line and I was hoping for a more opaque polish with better coverage. This is pretty on but much more gold than it is white. This is a really warm shade and it glows. The formula is fantastic and this glides right on smoothly without streaks, flooding, pooling, or drips. While this is nice it is much too golden for my tastes and I ended up painting over this with China Glaze’s Dandy Lyin’ Around for a white snowy look with shimmer. This is one of those polishes that appears sheer in one direction and much more opaque when the light hits it right. It is pretty but didn’t end up quite like the bottle shade and was more gold than white and on me it had a dirty look. This made me think of the glow of a fire and this would be fantastic for some nail art but not so much as a single shade for me. I’m happy to have it and it’s inspired a few ideas already but it wasn’t what I thought I was buying it for and it wasn’t at all like it looks in the bottle. That is disappointing.

I can only agree with the two previous reviews of this polish. I thought I bought a white polish with a bit of gold shimmer, but I got a very shimmery gold polish that looks “whiteish” from certain angles. It’s a nice color, on the nail it just looks nothing like it does in the bottle or on the sample OPI provide us with.
The polish is rather sheer, but three coats made it opaque. Actually, it seemed slightly streaky, but noone will notice that because the shimmer reflects the light and “covers” the streaks. Next time I’ll thin it a bit – even though I then might need to apply forur coats.
I won’t rebuy this color, but if OPI would make this in a cool version with (perhaps a little less) silvery shimmer, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

I was looking for a white polish that was not stark white and also not too frosty. This seemed to fit the bill in the bottle. I could see that there was a bit of gold shimmer, which I thought would look really pretty. What I wanted was a white polish with a little bit of gold. What I got was a gold polish with a little bit of white. It is nice, just not what I was looking for.

Ski Slope Sweetie is part of OPI’s 2013 Mariah Carey Holiday Collection. In the bottle, it looks like a very shimmery white – the way newly-fallen snow would look the morning after a big snowstorm, when bright sunshine hits the snow crystals and makes them sparkle. On the nail, though, there is a surprise – a glimmer of gold which is not apparent in the bottle. It’s a semi-sheer polish, so you’d need three coats for complete coverage. The formula is easy to work with and applies well with no streaking or pooling.
