I’ll start by saying that polish on my fingernails typically only lasts for two days before it begins to chip mercilessly. (A stark contrast to my toenails, which could apparently withstand a nuclear apocalypse.) So that’s what makes this polish a standout. The longevity is AMAZING.
First off, the color. This is the exact deep merlot that I was looking for, similar to the Chanel shade that was all the rage in the 90’s. It’s deep, vampy, classy, and sexy.
It requires at least two coats, because the almost jelly-like appearance can make it appear streaky if not applied carefully. Honestly, I don’t mind this too much, since painting my nails is “me time” and I don’t mind taking my time with it. The second coat gives enough coverage to look even without taking away from the jelly look. When the second coat dries, the finish is quite glossy, but I still apply a topcoat anyway.
The wear time of this polish is what makes it a true MVP. I painted my fingernails on Sunday afternoon. It’s now Friday morning, and they’re only just starting to show some signs of wear. No big chips, just a slight dulling of the finish and a bit of wearing at the very tip and near the cuticle. Not enough to make my hands look ratchet. Five days of totally acceptable-looking nails. This never happens for me, even with glitter polish. I could probably even score a couple more days out of it if I just topped it off with a little topcoat to bring the shine back. I know five days isn’t really much for a lot of people, but my nails are rather dry and prone to excessive chipping, and I’m very rough on my hands.
It’s about $7 and change at Ulta, which to me, is pretty fantastic. I’ve paid far more for polishes that don’t last nearly as long. You definitely get your money’s worth. Bear in mind, however, that not all CG polishes are created equal. Some are fantastic, but others will chip away within a day, even with a base and topcoat. It’s a crapshoot, but if you’re looking for a beautiful wine red shade that’ll stick to you like glue, pick up “Ravishing, Dahling”. It’s a sure bet.

Love this blood red jelly polish!! I’m actually getting my nails done again for the 2nd time with it (at the salon) because I’m a little too intimidated to do them myself with this color. The application is IMO a little tricky, but the color is absolutely GORGEOUS.

I’m a huge fan of China Glaze polishes but this polish is NOT one of my favorites. The color is gorgeous, yes, a beautiful deep, vampy red that compliments my skin tone wonderfully. I’ve used this for maybe 4 or 5 manicures and desperately want to love this but it’s just too difficult to work with. Not sure if I got a crazy bottle or what, but mine is sooooo thin and runny. It takes at least 4 coats to get a good solid, opaque coverage. Plus, this stains horribly!!!! You’d better not make a mistake when applying either because cleanup is NOT easy with this color at all because of the staining. I definitely will NOT be repurchasing this. Dislike!

This is a delicious wine red jelly. Because it is a jelly, it tends to be sheer, and the first coat is pretty streaky. By the second coat, it builds up to a gorgeous deep red with plummy tendencies, just like a nice glass of red wine. In brighter light (outdoors, for example), it’s very clearly and obviously deep red, but in more indirect light, it’s more of a burgundy colour. In any light, this polish has gorgeous depth of colour and a beautiful finish. I’m happy with the opacity of two coats, but some people might want to use three.
My only real complaint is that it’s quite slow drying, so you really need some patience between coats. However, with this polish, patience is a virtue, because the end result is just so very worth it.
I admit to having a long love affair with wine red nail polishes, and this is my latest passion. Would most definitely buy again. In fact, I’ll probably get a backup bottle of this one. Gorgeous, just gorgeous.

I love this polish! Shade is a gorgeous bright blood red with a jelly formula. I get a semi-opaque color in two coats. Love that china glaze dry in a decent amount of time. Definitely would repurchase this shade! 🙂

The perfect dark red jelly. Simple as that! A deep blood red shade with amazing depth, a tad blue based, but just enough to make it look fresh and cool without turning fuchsia at all. Dracula red, basically! Dark without looking blackened, red without looking firetruck-y. Amazing result in 2 or 3 coats. My search is over.

China Glaze Ravishing, Dahling (0.50 fl oz for $5.99 usd) is dark red cherry color. This looks more black in the bottle but the polish is a semi dark red that looks vixen, sexy and gothic. The application is smooth just like in many CG polishes, I use 3 coats to get the same intensity as the bottle shade. The staying power is great lasting 7-9 days on my nails with Seche Vite’s rapid top coat. Ravishing, Dahling is a great color when you want to go a little gothic or feel like a sexy vixen.

One of my default polishes. It’s this lovely dark, deep but not blackened red with an awesome jelly finish. I like about 3 coats on this one. I buy it discounted from Sally’s so it’s pretty cheap, and the formula is a dream. It’s a pretty neutral red that I find appropriate for my sophisticated lady and hardcore badass moods. I also love using this for a graduated manicure that looks like I killed a bear with my bare hands (trust me it’s a hot look).

As others have noted it looks fuschia when first applied. After the second coat I fell in love. Reminds me of Revlon’s Raven Red. I’m drawn toward these colors. This color lasted nearly a week on me and that is unheard of! No matter the base coat, top coat, whatever I’m gonna chip some polish but this lasted and I would highly recommend.

As most reviewers have already said, this polish takes 2-3 coats to get the colour in the bottle. That being said, the time it takes is TOTALLY worth it!
The end result is a beautiful, jelly creme that is stunning in natural and indoor lighting. The red is so warm and so deep, without being maroon. It’s such an amazing colour.
That being said, this polish smells terrible. It’s my first CG polish, but comparing it to Essie and OPI, it’s awful. I don’t know if all CG polish smells like this, but it’s definitely more pungent than what I’m used to.
