I LOVE this! For shade reference, I am NW47 in Mac. This is incredibly flattering! I normally reach for my Essie Au Natural but this is a lovely sheer, clear frosted pink. It’s like your nails but better! Very pretty, sheer and high shine! No streaks. Applies very well and looks great on short nails too.

Altar ego is a very beautiful sheer pink.Don’t Touch My Tutu was my favorite untill i tried this.It is absolutely gorgeous, and has a great shimmery look.It goes on without any streaking. Two coats are lovely, but three is even better. You must try this one!!!!

Comparison of some soft shades; 2 are iridescent. I have reviewed all of them on MUA:
Lovely, flattering, yet trendy AND conservative, iridescent soft shade. Perfect for anytime and occasion. Hard to not just stare at all the time. Gives the illusion of a tan in winter, too!
It is a very, very light pink, with a natural base, lighter than Bubble Bath, and has this amazing blue-violet/lilac iridescent flash. Sooooooo awesome, and pretty in all lighting, especially at night. There is a very slight shimmer, too. It is so sophisticated and edgy all at the same time.
Application is nice, too. I like 2 light coats, so there is a little visible nail line (VNL). Does not streak on me or get gloopy over time, either (like some soft shades can).
On my second bottle, will purchase repeatedly. My go to pink. I also have Otherwise Engaged, which is a very light pink, but with a quiet pink iridescence….the net effect gives you a iridescent ballet pink. It is my version of Bubble Bath (which I have and think is too boring); and it’s much more subtle then Alter Ego. Both are nice, but I prefer Alter Ego because it has a youthful flair, and that flash is so lovely and unexpected, and it’s little more flattering, too.
Beauty Brands keeps both in stock, if you want to check them out. If you are like me, and feel pinks are hard to wear with your skintone, Alter Ego may be the one for you.

what a gorgeous colour! works great as a top coat over other nail polish colours as well.
to describe the colour, it’s like a semi sheer pink opal. works great on it’s own or, personally, i like it layers over french manicures for a nice pearly finish.

I absolutely love this polish! It’s a sheer, opalescent pink with purple flash. Beautiful over other pinky neutrals and by itself as well. I will by this again and again. It’s definitely a staple.

An absolutely stunning shade of very sheer, irridescent pink that enhances the beauty of the polishes I top with it.
I haven’t yet tried it by itself, but it is worth every penny for its amplifying effects on my other nail looks.
Lately I have been wearing it over OPI’s Done out in Deco and over OPI’s Bubblebath, with very pretty results.
Highly recommended staple.

Beautiful. Very sheer, looks best with 2 coats for a glassy finish which you can see the white of your nail tips still.
Looks translucent pink with violet flash outdoors in the daylight, and like sugar water with blue/violet flash under indoors lighting. I love Opi bridal polishes because you always know they’re going to special, and this one is a stunner. Really, really lovely, this has me on a sheer kick!

Oh, how I love this polish! I used to wear OPI Bubble Bath as my to-go nude, but sometimes I find it a bit boring since it’s just a plain very natural nude. That’s where Altar Ego comes in. This gives even the most boring nude that little extra. I has a slight pink shimmery base with a light blue sheen and it makes my nails looks so polished. Even when I wear it on it’s own it gives my nails such a polished appearance. I will keep this in my collection forever.
This is my (very dry hands and) nails with OPI Altar Ego and Orly In A Snap Topcoat:

I am a guy who likes his nails healty looking and natural. I have been using mostly clear polishes but occaisionally get a french polish–it looks great and so natural nobody really notices. For fun I tried this polish based on reviews and find it has a nice clean natural look with a subtle irridescence of pink/lilac. It goes on very easy without streaking and is quite shear. It has a nice shine and looks great with one or two coats. It is whiter than rosy future by OPI but still subtle in indoor lighting. In sunlight, the color/irredescence pops out. Have worn at work and nobody really notices, it is subtle.

I love this polish. It is very similar to my HG Privacy Please. The only difference is that Privacy Please is a creamy shade and Altar Ego has the iridescent sheen. I prefer Privacy Please because it’s shine lasts longer, but they are very similar.
