Pure Pearl is a little frosty and streaky, but I find that to be true of most white and pearlescent polishes. This polish has reliable quality for me, and I feel that it is superior to several Essie’s I’ve owned over the years. I wish the brush could be bigger (or at least flat) but it is a good little polish in a lovely color.

Has this been discontinued? I can never find it anywhere. I love these frosty, iridescent white nail polishes. Some consider them trashy, but I have a great affection for them, “Pure Pearl” especially. It’s very middle aged truckstop diner waitress named Tammy who wears this, with blue eyeshadow too, who flirts with all and sundry. I think it’s very fun 🙂

I bought this on sale very early in my polish collecting. I love Revlon and have a ton of them, but this is a mess. I’ve never been able to get this to apply smoothly. It always streaks and lumps, dry time is terrible, and it even bubbles. Maybe over the right base coat I could get this to work, but then I’d still be wearing frosty white polish. Not for me.

This is my favorite white polish. It seems that the white creams never dry for me. This is a shimmery frosty white that dries quickly yet doesn’t chip the way most fast-dries do. Add a light glitter on top for a really dressy look. I’m on my third bottle, just love it!

I was surprised to read all the negative comments on this nail polish. I was so happy to find a white frosty nail polish that was as opaque as this one. I wasn’t even shopping for nail polish the day I found this one. It caught my eye. I have bought so many white polishes that turned out to be too sheer. I didn’t find this polish to be streaky. Just white frosty goodness. I have it on my toes right now. It’s Oct. and I’ve lost most of my summer tan and just love the clean look this polish gives.

I rarely wear white polish, because I have quite pale skin and I think the white on pale looks a little weird. I do use it for tips, sometimes, and as a base for nail art or glitters on occasion. Since I wear white infrequently, I’ve had this frosty/pearl white polish for many years.
It’s a little brushmarky, as a lot of highly frosted polishes are. I don’t think it detracts too terribly, and if you apply it with medium-to-thick coats pretty quickly, with the brush held as flat to the nail as reasonable, you can get a fairly good finish. The brushmarks are actually not that big of a deal with this polish, though, because the shimmer/frost is so bright, so it’s not very noticeable.
The formula is surprisingly easy to work with, not too thin, given that this is fairly sheer on the first coat. For complete opacity, you might need three coats, but I find that one coat of this over a basic white base works to not only provide opacity, but also minimise the appearance of streaks (can be an issue, though the above application technique helps with streaking).
This polish is part of Revlon’s core collection, so it’s easy to find, and not terribly expensive. As white pearl/frost/shimmer polishes go, it’s a pretty nice one.

I picked out this brand because it was on sale at the drug store. It looks different in the bottle then when applied. When it dries after application it sort of looks silver (ugh)! It’s supposed to be like a white color with shimmer. I was looking for a metallic white color. In some lightening it looks silver which I do not want.
In like four days it will start to chip even if a top coat is applied. Some lightening it will look shiny white, some not. It is good for wedding parties or brides, maybe going to a club. Would I wear this all the time? No! It takes a few minutes to dry, then you have to put another coat on then a top coat. After a few uses the whole bottle will go gooey. I had to soak it in hot water so that it can be liquidized.
I would not purchase again. I would try a different color and brand.

I bought a bottle of this primarily to touch up some missing paint on a costume jewellery brooch (yes, nail enamel has many uses!) – but I thought I’d give it a go on my fingernails while I was at it.
Oh dear is this hard to apply evenly! The first coat showed up every ridge and imperfection in my nails, and it took a thick 2nd coat to bring the finish to something approaching acceptable. No matter how opaque the coverage, this polish shows every brush-stroke streak. For that reason I don’t think I’d use it again, let alone buy it again.
On the other hand, the colour is really lovely – a pale shimmery pearl, and even my thick 2nd coat dried really quickly to a satisfyingly hard and shiny finish.
I suspect that the problem with this polish lies not with the brand/formulation, but with very pale, pearl polishes in general.

Very pretty pearly polish. Can be a little streaky, but the reflection of the pearl finish makes it unnoticeable. Great summer color. I got it for 2.99 on sale, can’t beat that price! 🙂

I really think pearly white nails are beautiful, and I thought this would fit the bill. The colour is pretty, and it lasted fairly long, but I just COULDN’T give this a polish a good rating because it was very, very streaky.
