Pros:
– great color, universally flattering blue base red;
– great wide flat brush, easy to apply, very even;
– lasts 5 days without a single chip. With no base or top will have only edge wear;
– has very glossy and high end looking finish.
Cons;
– stain nails badly, even with a base coat.
Won’t repurchase because I don’t like stained nails.

As other reviewers before have stated, this is a very pretty and easy to wear high shine red. I can see it working on many different skin tones because of neutrality. The brush is wonderful, making it easy to apply, however because the formula is on the thinner side, you do have to give the brush a good wipe or two against the bottle before applying or you risk applying too much. Here’s how I found the color breaks down according to coats –
1 coat: Semi-sheer Jelly “Watermelon Jolly-Rancher” pinky-red
2 coats: Semi-Opaque Red-hot Candy Red
3 coats: Opaque Creme Neutral Red

Love this polish! I use Orly Bonder as my base coat and Sally Hansen rapid dry topcoat (in the red bottle) and this polish wears beautifully. It’s a jelly polish and looks great with two or three coats.

Perfect red for any skin tone. It is the Longest lasting polish I have ever use. I don’t do top coats to be honest any more they seem to make my nails chip faster. So I like the all in one Polishs more. Just one step.it dries fast and I usually do another coat the next day just to be safe. Love the brush. I can go a whole week without a chip. So I love it just for that since I don’t like spending tons of time on my nails. So A+ from me. (see pic)

Beautiful classic RED. dries fast and has my favorite kind of brush. Doesn’t streak.

Another positive review from me. This red is perfect! I have received so many compliments when I wear this polish (which is just about all the time). I can go a whole month without redoing my nails, really. I use Essie No Chips Ahead and Sally Hansen Diamond Flash Top Coat throughout the month.
Again, this is my routine. Start off with clean dry nails. Brush on OPI Chip Skip. Then apply Cutex Basework. Apply two coats of nail color. Then finish with Essie (No Chips Ahead). Every other day or so apply S.H. Diamond Flash Top Coat. If you encounter a chip or two, just apply the Chip Skip in the chipped space, apply color, and finish off with a coat of Diamond Flash on the area.
As I have said in other (polish) reviews, I do not have the time (or energy) to constantly touch up my nails. I look for products that work. It may take a few tries, however, I will find products that work as they claim.
I hope this review helps you.

A beautiful and sophisticated classic red 🙂

this beautiful true red crelly is so nice and bright. its a two coater but I always do two anyhow. the slight jellyness of! it makes it sheer compared to other megalast polish but its supposed to b to give the cream jelly look a unique and fun polish. similar to other red crellys like loreal jolly lolly or sephora by opi and a cherry on top but wne is just slightly more opaque.

Such a perfect bright red tone! Great consistency and total bargain, especially when Wet n Wild is on sale at the drug store!

I love this shade of red. This is only of the only colors I do not get tired of wearing after a day. Perfect.

I love Megalast polishes. The wear the best of any polish on me (6-7 or more days) and I absolutely love the brush. The wide brush works great on my very curved nails.
This is my HG red cream. It is just the perfect red for me. I’m NC10 leaning neutral for reference. This is the only red cream I’ll ever need.

I haven’t written a review in quite some time but I just HAD to pop in and write one for ‘I Red A Good Book’.
First of all, I own tons of red polishes (albeit drugstore brands) and this one is truly the most vibrant neutral medium red shade that I’ve come across. Even my former flame ‘Revlon Red’ just can’t stand up to this one. I don’t know about most people, but on me shades touted as ‘neutral’ can sometimes be quite flat as far as dimension is concerned. This definitely isn’t so with ‘I Red A Good Book’. Though this color doesn’t pull warm or cool on me, it somehow just pops. It’s almost like a sumptuous candy apple red color that I suspect would be beautiful on most, if not all complexions. It’s one of those colors that you can’t help but look at!
Wet ‘n’ Wild’s Manicurve brush is wonderful. It’s thick and bristly but it’s not quite as dense as I remember the Sally Hansen brushes being. It’s incredibly easy to coat each nail evenly and more importantly, QUICKLY, both on very long and relatively short nails. It also doesn’t streak terribly if you get impatient while waiting for each coat to dry and I have yet to experience any horrible bubbling that makes your paint job look more like something found on a rickety county fair ride rather than a great manicure (looking at you, Revlon).
‘I Red A Good Book’ has great lasting power and doesn’t seem to grow duller and/or darker with wear like I’ve experienced with other polishes. It’s got a brilliant shine to it that really showcases the lovely color without the use of a top coat as well. The only qualm that I really have is that it seemed to soften and get streaked up by my hair when I was using a blow dryer recently but that very well could have been my fault for being careless.
For the price, ‘I Red A Good Book’ really can’t be beaten. The formula and brush seem to be much more superior to other drugstore brands with a higher price point. The wear is excellent and the color is stunning. Wet ‘n’ Wild really has a winner with their MegaLast line and I can’t wait to try more of their shades.

This is one of my most favorite reds! Wet n Wild has stepped up their game. The new bottles of megalast go on very smooth and opaque. All you need is one or two coats.This is a jelly type of color with a nice amount of shine. This is a true blood red that looks good against my caramel skin. The formula is also very long lasting though I used various topcoats.
