Life Is Rosy came out with the 2013 spring collection Avant Garden. I’ve heard it described as a dark mauve, but I call it more of a wood rose or Marsala shade. It is definitely what I associate with a “grandma” color. It is a pretty rose though and on the darker side with a warm look and it’s almost looks like a neutral shade on my fair skin. It is rose pink, but warm leaning. I didn’t think I was going to like this color but once I got it on, it turned out looking very nice on me and for some reason makes me think “fall” not spring. The formula on this was good and it was slightly on the thicker side giving opaque coverage in one coat, but the color was richer and the nail flaws were minimized by applying a second coat. The brush on this is a standard brush but I much prefer the wide pro brushes to this type. It applied the polish fine though although it does take more strokes. This formula is a wonderful to work with and I was able to go back over strokes without any balding or dragging. I really enjoyed how easily this polish was to paint with. I have had this bottle since 2013 and just now got to trying it out and it still performs like it was bottled this year. This did not run or flood my cuticles, it did not leave brush strokes, pool up, or apply unevenly. The wear time on this was fine and I got my usual 4 days out of it. I didn’t have any tip wear and only 1 tiny chip where a bit of peeling nail came off. On my fair skin, this polish looks more of a earthy salmonish shade. It’s hard to describe this color. It looks brown-reddish-rose when you compare it to a true pink, but looks pink rose when you compare it to a tan/brown/nude shade. I am liking this much more than I expected to and now wish I hadn’t waited so long to try it. It isn’t a color I couldn’t live without and not one I’d run all over town to hunt for, but it is a good standard color and goes with so many outfits. It’s a good neutral shade. I liked this one.
