ILNP (I love nail polish) is an American indi brand. If you have never tried indi polishes, try this brand and you’ll be hooked for life. They create the most beautiful holo polishes. Their polishes are well packaged and are great quality. I love their brushes too.
Kaleidoscope is a multicolour, flakie topper. It’s very easy to spread out evenly. It can be used over any colour (in my picture I used Nubar Amber Spark (bronze duo chrome) as a base). I applied 2 coats of Kaleidoscope, but you can use as many coats as you like to create the desired effect.
This is one of the most unusual polish I own. I would definitely repurchase it.

The colour is not the royal purple described but draws towards wine and brown slightly. It is not nearly opaque but very transparent. It fades into lines on and around the lips within an hour, but not as badly as with the others. Layered over a brown or wine lipstick it creates a wine coloured leathery look. But that’s the closest I can get to it looking ok. The smell is the same rancid vanilla as with the others.
The large problem however is how bad this product itches.

Besides the opaque, almost pastel, candy-colored lipsticks for which they are well-known, Lime Crime has expanded into lip gloss with their new Carousel Glitter Glosses. This winter 2011 Limited Edition collection includes 5 colors:
Candy Apple (ruby red w/ crimson glitter), Cherry On Top (pink-red jelly w/ rainbow sparkle), Golden Ticket (bronze metallic gold w/ gold glitter – on my wish list), Loop-de-Loop (midnight blue w/ multi-colored shimmer – see my review), and Kaleidoscope (reviewed below).

Kaleidoscope is a very dark plum-purple with turquoise sparkle. I can see the fine turquoise micro-glitter on my lips, and i can kinda sorta feel it when i rub my lips together *very hard*, but it is really not at all gritty. Like Lime Crime lipsticks, it, too, has a slight synthetic vanilla scent, but no flavor. It is nowhere as sticky as many other glosses i have, such as MAC, and has quite a bit of staying power, even staining the lips a bit.

I am rather fair and i like dark lipsticks. I also think this would also look good on darker skinned beauties, on whom the unusually colored glitter and sparkle would stand out more than on us pale people.

The case is transparent plastic with twisting spiral grooves. The long cap is metallic purple with lavender and white printing in festive curliques and fancy script saying Carousel Gloss. The top of the cap has little stars and a unicorn head embossed in relief. The white plastic wand has a nicely functional brush applicator. The tube comes in a hexagonal cardboard tube printed in white, pale orchid, and deep metallic purple

This is not a terribly unusual lip color, as several cosmetic companies make purple and violet lipsticks and glosses – i am particularly thinking of MAC. I own way too many purple and violet lipsticks & glosses, but i can always find room for more of my favorite color 🙂 And, at least in my opinion, purple is a bit more wearable than midnight blue (Loop-de-Loop). Kaleidoscope is very dark and quite dramatic, and i would recommend a more than naked eye makeup, so your eyes stand out along with your lips.

If purples are your thing, then, as the Lime Crime website says, “…hurry: this collection melts away with winter’s last snow…”
