Revlon Top Speed nail enamel in 901 Hearts of Gold FX is a really beautiful, unique, and interesting polish which can be worn as a top coat or alone. It is a clear polish with quite a good amount of small flecked gold glitter… what’s so unique about that, you may ask? There is also a plethora of larger holographic hearts scattered throughout. They also have a version of this with holographic glitter called Celestial FX that has diamond, star, and crescent moon shapes… I wish I would’ve picked that one up, too when I saw these in store a few years ago.
I LOVE this as either a top coat or used on it’s own. The holographic hearts are so interesting, they look absolutely stunning and I would get questions/compliments all the time when I wore this.
This polish is somewhat difficult to work with. The holographic hearts sometimes have to be fished out purposefully with the brush for you to get one or two on each nail. Also, especially towards the end, the formula of this started getting pretty goopy.
I used this almost all the way until it ran out… I have NEVER fully used a nail polish up. When I tossed this in my purse to take to work to write a review (yeah, I get that bored) I didn’t notice that the lid was not screwed on all the way, not even half of the way (guess I got in a hurry or wasn’t paying attention the last time I used this product.) When I took it out of my purse at work I froze and checked all throughout my purse, certain that it had tilted over and gotten everywhere. My purse is totally clean. So this must have evaporated from me leaving the lid loose, because all that is left now is some gold glitter and holographic hearts stuck to the bottom and side of the packaging.
The packaging is great though. It looks nice, and what happened to me was purely user error and had nothing to do with the bottle itself. I think this was around 4 dollars, which I think is a great deal for a product such as this. I would repurchase, except Revlon tests on animals and I’ve been trying to cut down on/cut out using products from companies who partake in animal testing. So into the trash this goes… it was fun while it lasted.
