I found some of the original formula Sally Hansen polishes, some d/c, some not. For reference both pictures above are in the original bottle the new bottle has the X on a slant.
I’ve reviewed the disappointing ones: coral reef being one, now a good one.
I have to say that the one of the pictures above and lots of images searches look like this hue is a intense violet duochome. The bottle I got is a muted lilac purple color with a glow on the nails but no duo chrome.
The formula is good. Applies without streaking, dries fast and lasts long. There is a sheerness to it, but adding coats is not a problem. The problem? SH has d/c this color, but you can find it, and as I’m writing this review Ulta has it in stock.

Gorgeous metallic blue and purple opalescent color, at least it’s what it seems like when looking at the bottle. You’ll need at least three coats for the color to build up and look solid. The formula is very sticky and never seems to dry! It is very probable that this will turn pasty on your nails and start denting off immediately.
This is too bad. You’ll need a lot of patience and coating to get the color to show. It’s a beautiful one though… Too bad it really sucks.

Beautiful color duo chrome violet with blue and gunmetal hues, I had no problems with it at all two coats no base and it came out like the bottle! & I got it for $2

I really like this color. I have never came across this type of purple color before. I like the reflective blue it gives off. The reason I gave this a 4 is because I have to put on three coats until my nail is completely covered, and even then I can still see my nail peeking through which kind of bothers me but I can live with. I also wish that the brush was more like the Instadry brush but there’s not much I can do about that. I find it can be a bit streaky but you gotta work with the product. My nails do chip pretty quickly but with this polish they can last a good three days before they chip.

I don’t like that it’s opalescent. Also wears off pretty quickly.

The PERFECT color but…the WORST formula! I would try and put it on my nails, only to have it slide off. =( It’s a same. Just too hard to work with and once you get it on your nails, the stuff won’t dry. Horrible.

This nail polish is great. I love the color and shimmer. I put a top coat on it to make it last longer. I”m a rock climber and my nail varnish normally chips up pretty easily, but this has lasted a week of climbing with one chip!

ugghhhhh I literally now hate Sally Hansen nail polishes, they seem to be of a different formula, I used to always buy this color, Strobe Light, Black Out, Peony, and numerous other colors, but now they are extremely sheer and kind of liquidy, and take for ever to dry, and they don’t have very good pigmentation. I will not buy from this brand again, I might go and try to find a better brand with a purple which will match the bottle in fewer coats(this took me 3 coats to get close to the bottle, and even then it was streaky)

Oh my…I think you guys all must have gotten old bottle of this lovely polish! Yes the first coat goes on very sheer indeed, but the second coat is amazing! I actually use 3 coats of this one to get a deeper violet color to pop. I have not problems with the drying either! I usually wait 10 to 15 minutes before applying a top coat with any polish anymore. I have had too many problems with the bubbles w/any brand polish unless I wait to apply a top coat. I always use a quick dry top coat, SH brand, and wait for that one to dry, and then sometimes I will apply another clear top coat to make my manicure really last if I love the color.
I love this color! It is so amazing. It looks very violet in the sunlight, gun metal color in the darker lite rooms, and almost a grayish blue is other light. Unique and beautiful, just my style.

this color never dries. i used 5 coats for color to even show up. the next morning i poked my nail on the nail polish and it made a huge dent. its impossible for this to dry
