A few years back (at least four, probably more), this polish was the bomb. You couldn’t even get GOSH makeup here in the US, and this kind of polish in this particular shade was not as common.
I finally got it after it became available in the US. It was a huge disappointment! In the best photos you can find online, the purple tones are cooler and the shimmer is fairly visible. That’s not how it will usually look like, unless it’s cloudy. Otherwise, forget about it, it’s just plum colored. That beautiful blue shimmer won’t be blue. To be fair, all of this applies to most polishes that have the plum base. However, some of them (ex. OPI DS Royal) at least tend to have stronger blue shimmer, so you have a bigger range where it will look nice.
But getting back to this particular polish. You will have to put on at least two coats, preferably three, or it will look terrible. Unfortunately, the polish takes a long time to dry, so it will probably get some dents before it does. I didn’t even get a chance to see how good the wear time was because it would be ruined after I thought it was dry. And I gave this polish a fair chance, three full manicures, and none of them were successful.
That brings me to another problem I have with this polish: the bottles don’t hold the standard 15ml/0.5 oz. They hold 8ml/0.3 oz, and they’re not cheap. For the same volume, an OPI would cost around $5 at retail value.
So no, I can’t recommend this polish. It had its time, but there are nicer polishes in the same vein these days (ex. Dance Legend Final Fantasy) that have a better price, formula, and really deliver if you’re into that whole buildable royal purple jelly with blue shimmer/flakes dealie.

I hadn’t bought any GOSH polishes but seen this color and couldn’t resist! I used it once on my toenails with 2 coats + topcoat, and once on my fingernails with 3 coats + topcoat. I liked the variations. In both instances the color lasted a long time without chips. I generally chip my fingernails within 2 day of applying polish. It was a full week before the nail ends started to be bare and still NO chips!! I have not had that in any other polish. I WILL be buying more colors – just wish there was more color choice.

To start off, Gasoline is a beautiful colour. It’s a stunning, almost jelly-like purple with glitter in the bottle. I was rooting for it so badly and was disappointed when I just didn’t love it. You’ll never reach bottle colour or straight up opacity (perhaps with an underwear colour). The formula was not what I’m used to from GOSH and overall, I was super disappointed. That said, I’ll wear it again, but it’s not a colour that will make me run out for a back up right away. C+

The good: Gasoline is a gorgeous color, period. It’s beautiful purple metallic with flashes of blue.
The bad: It’s fairly overpriced for DS polish, at $8 CAD. This wouldn’t be an issue if it performed as well as other polishes in that price range, but for me, it did not. The formula was thick, almost “goopy”, but still took 3-4 coats to reach opacity. Even with drying in between coats, applying a fast dry topcoat, and an hour wait to dry, as soon as I went to change clothes the mani was destroyed. I had to completely remove the polish from the affected nails and redo altogether.
It’s truly a pretty polish, just be prepared to part with a little too much time and money!
EDIT: I recently tried out this polish again, but just a coat over top of an opaque purple. Much less frustrating this way, and looks almost as good as a topcoat as it does by itself. Updating lippies from 2 to 4.

Absolutely love this polish.
I was looking for something close to OPI’s new ‘Just a little Dangerous’ that’s featured in Lucky Magazine & on Sephora. This polish is almost a dead ringer for the OPI version and at a bit cheaper price to boot as well.
You will need 2+ coats plus to get really dark. Great ‘rocker’ color & the metallic in this is just right. Noticeable, but not big bits of metallic.
GOSH makes great makeup and for less money it’s often comparible to MAC, OPI etc. quality & colors.

If you like a bright purple, metallic like look this is for you (looks like Cadburys Chocolate foil ). If you hold the bottle on its side and the light catches it, that is the colour that you will see on your nails.
I am happy with the opaque look with 2 coats, nice brush & applies smoothly
Update: Used as a pedi, no chips after around a week.
I have started to love the look of this polish more each day. I love its high shine and it is such a cheery colour.
Originally I would probably not have repurchased, as there are so many other fun colours to buy, but I’m weakening now. I can’t imagine not having this colour.
