Emerald Cut is an emerald green polish with green and gold shimmer.
I like this polish very much. The only reason I marked it down slightly is because of its consistency, it’s both thick and runny at the same time, so I found the application to be a little tricky. But, unlike glitter polishes, Emerald Cut is very easy to take off.
I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase this polish, it’s just a shame Hard Candy polishes are not sold in the UK.

I purchased my Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Quad palette in Emerald Cut as the first palette from their reformulated eyeshadows (as I remember, it was couple of years ago). After few days of usage, it simply layed in my make-up vault along other Avon and drugstore products and I returned to my Urban Decay Naked II palette, as well as Dior, Guerlain and other brands from the high end, as the shades I got from these brands were more suitable for office work.
The time went on and I went to maternity leave. After couple of months in “no-time-to-sleep, no-time-for-myself” period, I decided to start little self-grooming, keep my hand light on applying make-up and just put some make-up before I go out with my child. Amongst all the beiges, nudes and purples, I felt that Emerald Cut is the palette what I need this fall. And, honestly, after 3 weeks of using this palette daily, I really do not understand, why I used it so seldom earlier?! I also put aside my Chanel blush and Guerlain’s bronzer, to pull out illuminating face pearls and Bronzing Powder from Avon, and I really like how this all works together.
I cannot call the shadows as the best of the best, or as good as YSL, Dior or MAC, but they are worth the money. If we recall those AVON Quads which were available, lets say, 10 years ago, AVON has made a huge step in their development. These shades are buildable, blendable quite well pigmented and also stay on well. The payoff and durability is even better, if base is applied. Also the color combinations in those Quads are simply inspiring, and this is a very strong feature to persuade you to mix the shades of different textures and colors.
I used Big Colour Eye Pencil in Flipping out Pink from Avon as a base under these quads (the pink shade, from the palette, which I find is the least pigmented, becomes very pretty with it), and line my eyes with Avon’s Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliner in Emerald Glow (it also works as a base for the darkest emerald shade from the palette to stick at the lashline).
I’ve met several friends and colleagues these days, and some of them has told that I look even better now after delivery :).
