I bought a bottle of East Hampton Cottage for $4 at TJ Maxx. It seemed to be marketed as part of their bridal nails collection but I think it’s a pretty, wearable color for everyday.
As other people have said, while it’s a very light milky, pearly pink in the bottle, it is lighter on my nails. The brush is small, but I found it easier to apply with this brush compared to some larger nail polish brushes that gloop everywhere. It was streaky with one coat, but with two coats it’s not completely opaque, but almost – the iridescence and texture actually reminds me of the inside of an abalone shell, which I like.
I’ve been wearing it for about 5 days now (with 2 coats and a top coat) and it’s starting to chip a little bit on my right hand (which I use for most work/tasks), but my left hand is still almost perfect. It definitely seems to be holding up better than some other nail polishes I’ve used (which start to chip pretty badly after 3-4 days), but it could also be that the chips are harder to notice with this color since it’s so light.
I think it’s a pretty color and a good addition to my nail polish collection – I had a similar shade with a silvery-milky tone but I didn’t have one that’s warm pink.

It’s frosty white and difficult to apply. I will use it underneath other colors since Essie poishes stain my nails yellow.

Love the color once it’s ab 3/4 coats in. A very light shimmer nude white. Perfect for day, wedding ect. Yes it took 3 coats to get opaque but your base is usually the key to perfection when it comes to pastels and whites. I love and prefer China Glaze when it comes to pastels but this is an okay option. Bought it bec of the color and also grabbed Marshmellow too. Streaky on first and second coats. It’s a good one to have and may turn into a go to color if it weren’t for the crappy brush. I bet a better base coat would help if not one at all.

I absolutely adore this color but the formula is HORRID. I just got finished after spending 30+ minutes applying it. My advice: wait at least 10 minutes between coats. I had to do 4 unfortunately. If it wasn’t for the horrible formula I would rate this color among my top 10 Essie’s.

I am a very forgiving person when it comes to nail polish. I will work with a polish long after most people would just give up and complain that it’s too streaky.
I’m also the kind of person who can’t handle an imperfect manicure.
This nail polish is among the worst in terms of Essie formula. At four coats I finally had the color I wanted, but it was still not perfect in my eyes. The color wasn’t perfectly even, and I do not have a shaky hand. I’m going to try it on my toes as well and hopefully it won’t be as bad there. I do love the color and despite the fact that it is awful to apply, I will probably use this again but I will most definitely not repurchase.

I absolutely love Essie polishes! I have very small nails and I find it perfect for them. This color is gorggggg! I wore it all summer and loved it. Also in terms of streak ness- I found there were none. And it was perfect in 2 coats. In terms of price. It’s an Essie polish and compared to other brands it’s fairly normal. I get these at a good price bc I work at a salon but I’d totally buy them at like walmart and what not. I like that too. The fact that they are easily accessible to the public unlike china glaze here in quebec….

This is a beautiful pearl white sort of pink polish. To get an idea of how pale pink, it is similar to washing a red sock in a load of whites. I wasn’t sure whether to put this one with the whites or the pinks it’s hard to classify. The formula is thin and this goes on a bit streaky and like most pastels it is not opaque at all, but it does build up nicely with 3 coats. I still had some visible nail line but only at certain angles. The brush is crap though. It is small and cheap. It doesn’t flex well or fan out for application and even though it’s much bigger it performs like a mini polish brush. I have much better quality brushes in my 1.99 Wet n’ Wild polishes. For $8 it is not unreasonable to expect the polish to have a better quality brush for application. Overall, this is a beautiful polish and it is a great neutral shade for year ’round wear. This polish got me compliments. You’ve got to love that! It is a bit overpriced but it is pretty and isn’t that what it’s all about?

Pretty color. I love it on my toes. This definitely has application issues that I find typical with Essie polishes though. It streaks and needs a few coats. Can get pretty clumpy.

I absolutely love this white pearl color, it looks very pretty.
It looks great both for nails and toes.
I got it for $3.50 at Beauty Supply store. The only problem, it applies very streaky, I need to apply 3 coats to look perfect. However, it is ok considering the good price.

Essie’s East Hampton Cottage is a beautiful soft white shimmer. Application was streak free for me, I found it very easy to apply as opposed to other Essie whites I’ve dabbled in like the streaky mess that is Marshmallow and Waltz as well. I think the best way to apply it, is to use a lot of polish on the first coat to avoid streaking. I consider it a pure white, but not stark by any means. I prefer this to a white frost because the shimmer is much more understated. The look on this one is a very even high glossy shine. Two coats were opaque on my nails. If Marshmallow’s streaky application frustrates you and you crave that white opaque nail look minus the white out affects then this would be ideal!
