This is a gorgeous dark blue shade that actually looks blue on the nail and has just enough sparkle to it. I would prefer it to have a little more holo but that’s just a personal preference and doesn’t detract from my overall love of this color. Plus, as far as holos go I tend to go to lighter shades anyway (they show the rainbow better) so this is pretty close to perfect the way it is.
I was shocked to discover that 1 coat was enough to give me full coverage. One?! Unheard of. And I don’t do thick coats, it’s just that the color is so pigmented you really don’t need more than that. In fact, I did an extra coat on one thumb just to compare and to my eye there is absolutely no difference in the color on that finger and the other 9. Even after a generous coat of SV you can’t tell the difference so it seems unnecessary to do more than that, in my opinion. You’ll definitely need a good topcoat to get the shine this polish deserves. It dried fairly quickly and on the matte side so I did one coat of Revlon Colorstay topcoat then a layer of SV for quick drying and I have a very shiny result I’m happy with.
The only real downside to this and all polishes in OPIs DS line is the fact that they are $12 retail. I purchase mine online so they are a little cheaper, but with China Glaze’s new line of OMG at roughly $3, it’s hard to justify purchasing many of these. Especially because the OMG are way more holo than DS. But I still like this one and would repurchase (online) if I ever ran out.
Update: I change my color every day so I don’t normally get to comment on wear but after having this on for only a few hours I had to come back and edit. Wow, is it chiptastic. When I use SV I don’t usualy have tipwear (especially when I use it with Colorstay) but after a few hours I had tipwear on every one of my fingers (even the one with two coats) and a chip out of one of them. Bummer.

DS Fantasy is a great blue and the only halo in my stash. I’m not a huge halo fan and was originally turned off but after seeing pics I knew I had to at least give it a try. I was not disappointed. The color is true navy blue, not blurple like OPI Ink or Russian Navy and would never be confused for being anything else but…blue. I like DS Fantasy because its not really a halo but moreso chalked full of dense glitter and only gets intensely blingy under extreme lighting conditions. The application was great and two coats offered excellant coverage. Why a rating of a four rather than a five? Well…Fantasy dried rather dull but I was able to amp up the shine with my topcoat (Poshe) but IMO the shine still doesn’t last as long as it normally would (which is disappointing) and more than the usual tip wear showed up the very next day. I would definitely repurchase this polish.

This is the blue I have been looking for all season! I wanted a nail polish that was a true navy. OPI Ink and Russian Navy are pretty, but tend to turn violet on me and with Russian Navy the red shimmer takes away from the true navy I am looking for. Even though this is one of the DS n/p’s, it is not THAT holo, which is good. I think that would be TOO much for a navy color. This is the perfect color for the season. Not too light, and certainly not too dark, where it almost looks like it is black. It is a very fine silver shimmer, but doesn’t take away from the Navyness of it at all. It wears really well too. BY far my favorite blue out of all the blues out there available for the season!!!
