Demure Vix (my bottle says Vix not Vixen) is one of my top neutral polishes for sure! It is a gorgeous shade of taupe with a lavender-pink flash to it, making the colour appear to glow in the light, but in such a way that the shade is still subtle and work appropriate. I believe this shade would be flattering to a lot of skin tones. It has a nice formula too, slightly shearer than I was expecting though as it took 3 coats to reach full opacity. However, the formula was easy to work with, and didn’t apply with streaks or bald patches. It dried quickly and to a shiny finish, and wore well, lasting around 4 days on the nail – however I was heavy on my hands those days and I don’t doubt that it would have lasted an extra day should I have been more gentle – making the wear time similar to my other Essie polishes. This one is a beauty, and I highly recommend it. Truly a neutral with something special.
Rated 5 out of 5 by AllieGarone from Fairly elegant brow sandal This is my very first time putting Monogram up and running on a wedding. It has been high in a green color and shades a mostly yellow and black or slightly blue undertones which quite makes it a bit of a jewel here. The only thing that struck me about this product was that it applied well, without extremely drying appearance (it stays in the sun for a couple of days) although this tint gets applied very slowly and get it a bit hot and humid to keep the finish from getting very dark. It is very easy to wear out with frequent cold showers and it actually makes for some pretty attractive look shades. The only main downfall of this product is the fact that it is not our #1 neutral but instead is the black version and I really don’t like that as it wears out my skin does not develop any noticeable weight. The formula was very convenient as it all but filled a small hole in my bottle and pulled the nail out without application, which was very easy because no one tries to pull a nail out or put a nose on one so easily and this helped achieve it. It doesn’t hold up quite as well as most of my other high school décor that I have used and this one does not. It lasts much longer, especially when applied under blusher or the worst of things right after application, even if it does fill up a bit and when it does need a bit more application. I currently buy this product on the go to keep me busy as I are developing my self esteem and to keep I think I should stick to Art Nouveau foundation next time I make the bottle so I can use my tint as well. The colors so far are green, white, dark blue, bright red, blue purple, and, green. I ordered 5 of these out of curiosity and i hope to do more this weekend so i don’t think i will use them next time but the green I like is perfectly neutral color and lasts for days and that i´ve learned from just my trial and error, i used 2 blue polishes but that has changed as well so yes, one of them is actually not neutral but i feel it stays in very well i should be able to wear it out for a few days but if i am going to buy another one I will definitely put this in the bottle. I always go with my foundation so the

I am now on my 4th bottle of Essie Demure Vixen. Its my favorite work appropriate, neutral nail polish for my light/medium, cool skin tone. Demure Vixen is very similar to OPI’s Tickle my F’rancey, its a light taupey beige color but DV has pink/violet opalescent shimmer finish and Tickle My F’rancey doesn’t. This product is easy to apply and two coats are all you need for a perfect manicure. I hope they keep making this color because I wouldn’t want to be without it.

This is a pretty taupe with lilac iridescence. In some light it looks taupe, in other (usually brighter) light it looks mauve. It’s a nice neutral that goes on fairly sheer, but with two coats it’s opaque. It goes on smoothly and dries to a shiny finish. The only reason I won’t buy it again is that it doesn’t look good against my skin color. Doh! I gave the bottle to my sister, whose skin tone is slightly more fair than mine, and it looks great on her.

Demure Vix (this is what the label on my new bottle says, instead of “Vixen”) is a beautiful work-appropriate neutral that isn’t the least bit boring; a taupey, greyed lilac with pink iridescence that’s opaque at two coats. Against my tan skin, the purple tone is dominant (rather than pink or taupe) and very flattering. This is a lovely choice for when you need a break from vamps or brights and crave a soft, understated color.

Jelly-ish, sheer but buildable neutral polish with a dash of iridescence. Lovely “palate cleanser” that works as a soft spring shade or pale fall color. I really love it.

I wanted a winter purplish/greyish polish and found this color at Walgreen’s. I wasn’t so sure about the opalescent factor, but decided to try it. The next day I wore it to work and my first customer of the day told me how pretty it was and asked the brand/name of the polish so she could purchase it for herself. I wear nail polish all the time and this almost never happens. “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.” Looks great, wears pretty well for someone who uses a keyboard all day long and can be worn sheer with 2 coats, or 3 for deeper saturation.

He’ll yeah if I ran out of this product I would go RUNNING to the store to buy another one!!! If I lost it?! I don’t even want to think about that ! So this is a brand new polish to my collection. I have to say it is STUNNING and has immediately become my favorite nail polish. It has all of the tones that I could possibly want in a nail polish. The lilac in it, plus the nudeness in it, PLUS a hit of pink, UGH! I’m all not and bothered. Lol Demure Vix is a Beautiful shade that is classy, stylish, feminine, work appropriate. It just fits into all categories. Love it! It’s my new fave! If you don’t have it…. Well what are you waiting for??? Go pick it up : )

I’m a big fan of this shade – feminine, with a little twist! It’s a light pink with gray undertones and a lilac tint in certain lights. It doesn’t look at all morgue-ish on me, on the contrary, I think it’s really flattering. I like it best with 3 coats, but it’s also pretty when worn sheerer with fewer coats. Flawless application, no streaks. I like to wear this on my fingers with OPI’s Boris and Natasha (deep purple) on my toes.

Very pretty, subtle color. Shimmery purple taupe, beautiful in sunlight. Some people commented that they needed multiple coats, but I had good coverage with just one. I think it’s designed to be on the sheer side. It was not streaky at all, even with just a single coat, which I can find to be a problem with light Essie colours.

Love love love this color! It’s absolutely gorgeous! I see people complaining about having to paint 3 coats but it’s well worth it. It may not be the most unique or amazing color but I really do love it. The application is smooth and easy, and the drying time is great too! I really love this polish (:
