On Pointe came out earlier this year as a part of Ballerina Collection 2018. I bought without seeing any swatches, based on the website picture and description. It’s a light mauve/nude cream. From pictures and description I thought it would be a lot darker. So, at first I was very disappointed and put off trying this polish. But, when I finally tried it I was very pleasantly surprised. It looks very elegant and flattering. I don’t own Essie Ladylike, so I can’t compare the 2, but when I finished painting my nails I thought it looked like the Essie. Neutral enough if you don’t like coloured polishes, but interesting enough if you don’t like neutrals. Perfect job interview choice. Also looks great with INM Northern Lights is you like a hint of added sparkle.
The formula is really nice to work with. I needed 2 coats, but the formula is self-levelling, so there were no streaks. My only concern is that I had 2 small chips after 2 days of wear. It could have been my fault and I like this polish enough to give it a benefit of a doubt. I will try it again in the near future and if it chips easily again, then I will (reluctantly) reduce the munger of lippies.
P.S. Just thought I’d mention another annoying factor. I love Cuccio, so this is not something that would put me off the brand, but…. On all of my previous bottles the name was printed on the base label. However, the 2 bottles I bought from this collection have the name on a square label stuck on the back of the bottle. By the time I finished painting my nails the name of the polish rubbed off. I really hope this is not a new feature on all their polishes.
