This is a pretty, light-medium gray with a surprising powder blue tint to it. I wasn’t expecting the blue undertone since it looks all gray in the bottle. I have yellowish skin, that may make it look even more blue. The shade is growing on me though and I think it’s special. I do like OPI, but oftentimes find their color choices a bit antiquated. Not this one! I think it’s right on trend. Needs 3 coats to be fully opaque. Like the wider brush. Started chipping after day 1, that’s why I can only give 4 lippies.

This is definitely a cool grey – I compared it to other greys I own, such as Essie’s Take it Outside, which is a warm grey, or OPI’s Berlin There Done That, which is a warm grey-taupe, and it’s obvious that Cement the Deal has coo blue undertones. The formula is terrific – it went on smoothly and easily, without streaking.

Cement The Deal is from OPI 50 Shades of Grey Collection 2015. This is a winter/spring collection based on the movie 50 Shades of Grey. It is a basic light grey with a hint of blue undertone. The formula is a crème based color. Very unique. Kind of giving me a French feel. Very elegant and pretty.
The application is, on the contrary, not to my expectation. I find that I need a good 2 coats to make it just opaque as it is kind of runny. I am sure if I use three coats, I will go completely opaque.
This color is good for both winter and early spring and kind of give me a warm feel. I am sure you will like it if you are into grey.

So I saw these swatches of the collection on a youtube video (I can place the link below, it’s so well done), and I immediately bought the mini collection off of ebay. Why? Because I never realized how much I needed a grey nail polish until I saw the swatches of this collection. Boy, the books are a horrid black chapter in the world of literature, but this collection from OPI is a coherent little gem. About every color is just different enough from each other to be exciting, but just similar enough in the color family to belong together as a collection. They are all cold and sophisticated, sexy yet low key, it just makes sense. Even the red looks like it belongs, lurking in there like a tempting red apple, daring you to pick it out of all the other colors. It’s just a sexy red, if that makes sense. I could curl my fingers around a grey silk tie with this on any day of the week. Way to go OPI, this is why you’re my go to in the world of nail polish.
Cement your deal is just the perfect light grey in my opinion, just light enough to be… you know, light, and with the right hinge of blue to get that cold undertone. Actually, the color might look pretty blue based on swatches, but it’s more of a light grey color in real life. It reminds me of cold, wet stones at the beach. I just put it on right now and can’t believe I never owned a true grey nail polish before, it’s so understated, but makes such an impact.
The nail polish in consistency is creamy and easy to apply, the first coat is a bit streaky, but the second coat puts it all together – add a third coat and it looks amazing. It’s shiny enough on it’s own, but I added seche vite top coat to make it even more shiny and to make it last longer. I don’t know about the endurance of the polish, but knowing OPI it should stay put for a good 3 days before it starts chipping. I damage my nail polish during work hours, but if you don’t have that problem and base and set properly, then I don’t see how this shouldn’t stay put for about 5 days and still look good.
I don’t know about the other colors yet, but if this becomes a favorite (which I kinda suspect…), then I will purchase a big bottle asap.
