What a disappointment! It was really streaky and hard to work with. I really liked the idea of a weekly polish, but I couldn’t even get one good manicure out of it. I also tried the Romantique color, and it was even more streaky. Both colors where a sheer to semi-sheer, so maybe an opaque color would give better results. I wanted to love it, but didn’t give the results I wanted.

Beau is now available in Vinyluxx format as well as gel and “conventional” lacquer.
A soft, sheer, pinky-neutral. Great on its own (I am a PPP) or as a base for a French mani.
Clean and natural looking.
No issues with application.

I started getting shellac manipedis when my salon first started offering them, about 5 years ago. The colour we first tried for French was Beau. Since then, Beau has consistently been my go-to colour for French manipedis, even used it on my wedding. As I type this, my French pedicure is using Beau and is still looking freshly done after 3 weeks. The colour is perfect with slightly tan skin – it looks healthy and natural while allowing a bit of the nail’s natural pink colour to come through. The other CND Shellac pinks, which are close to Beau in colour, look somewhat bright and artificial looking on a French with my skin tone.

Creative Nail Design’s Beau (#328) appears to be a milky, off-white polish in the bottle with a very fine sheen of same-toned microshimmer. On my nail, over Color Club’s Milky White Base Coat, it turns into a more snowy white, almost frosty nail color with a very slight golden touch. I believe that the basecoat I used may have something to do with both the whitening of the polish (as the basecoat visually whitens the nail) and the slight lavender undertone too, though my nails do have lavender moons.
I would suggest using a ridgefilling base, rather than a nail whitener, under this polish as it does appear to be slightly streaky and uneven at three coats. It is also sheer enough to let the white tip of the nail show through, and if you look very closely, the moons of the nail are visible. I can also see brushstrokes, though they are only visible up close. I will say that this polish applied incredibly well in that I barely had to handle the brush to get a layer of polish down. The brush seemed to avoid my cuticles and curve around my nail effortlessly. I’m not usually that good of a manicurist, if you get my drift, so I’m thinking that the brush did most of the great work.
One big negative to this particular polish is that it did take a long, long time to dry. Whether that was because of the polish formula (some CNDs take a while to dry), the particular color, or the amount of coats I used (3), I don’t know. I did use Poshe quick-dry topcoat, and my bottle was obviously having issues, causing bubbles to appear on top of my manicure. I also used OPI’s Drip Dry drops on top of Poshe, hoping to speed up the drying time, but I don’t know that they helped. I even waited a while, then repeated the Poshe and drops again and still managed to smudge a nail opening a plastic bottle later. Despite all the layers of polish and top and basecoats, this polish has worn very well on my nails. While I’m not wild about the color- it’s not all that unusual and special- it’s a nice choice if you’re looking for a sheerish, whiteish polish to wear on your nails that won’t make it look like you used a bottle of White Out. I don’t see this polish looking particularly bad on any skintone. I bought this online for US$2.99, which I felt was a fair price. I wouldn’t buy this particular color again, as it’s not the kind of color I wear on a regular basis, but I’ll continue to buy more CND polishes in the future.
