Aura is from the Black Quartz Collection. It’s a texture glitter polish. Tons of pinky red glitter set in black jelly.
I wish I knew it was a texture polish when I picked it up, as I would never have bought it. This polish is very similar to OPI Stay The Night. The only difference is that Aura has more glitter and the glitter is slightly smaller in size (from memory). They both dry to a dull, matte texture finish. I used 3 coats of thick, clear top coat to give it shine and to smooth it out (I am not a fan of texture polishes). It dries very fast and wears very good too, but the thought of removing all that glitter, makes me regret buying it even more.

I am surprised that there are only two reviews on this product. Aura is a Rouge Coco Shine lipstick so that means that is is light, glossy and sheer in texture. This one looks very deep in the tube. Don’t be afraid of that. On the lips it is a very wearable berry. I love colors like this so I have some to compare for reference. I had a YSL sheer formula shade that was almost a clear dupe but it has been long discontinued. The Chanel formula is a little more sheer balm like whereas the YSL was a bit heavier with a gel like feeling. Clinique Black Honey also has a bit of that gel feeling. The Black Honey leans warmer and browner (90’s style) on my Chanel B20, MAC NW20 lightish neutral to cool skin. Burberry Kisses in Blueberry was my staple fall winter lipstick for the last two years. Obviously if the name is a tipoff, that one is cooler. It has a slightly pinkish undertone on me that makes me look like I just ate a popsicle. Although the Burberry formula is sheer, it packs more pigment and also had that gel like feel I described earlier. I still love the Burberry lipstick but I thought the Chanel was sufficiently different. The Burberry color needs a little gloss (I like Burberry Tea Rose) to keep it from looking like too much with normal to full on eye makeup. It also looks best with neutral or cooler tones. The Chanel lipstick feels like it has more of an oil slip feel vs a gel. It feels lighter on the lips. I also think it has enough dimension to be worn alone. The Aura color has more of a plum wine undertone. The extra bit of red makes it really flattering and versatile with a number of eyelooks, warm and cool.

I absolutely LOVE Aura! How can anyone not? It is VERY much like Clinique’s cult classic Black Honey (which is a favorite of mine!), only Aura is slightly deeper and darker berry, and is a little more glossy.
Just like Black Honey, Aura looks almost black in the tube, but it applies on lips as a SHEER deep plum-berry. It feels ultra moisturizing and looks gorgeously glossy and shiny! I find it very wearable and very much a “natural vampy” look on my pale nc10 skin. I hope Chanel keeps Aura in their permanent lineup, because I would repurchase over and over. 🙂

This review is for Aura Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick which is from the new 2014 Fall Collection.
I finally broke down and bought a much hyped over-priced Chanel lipstick–$35. This color is a very sheer mid-tone plum color that leans warm.
Overall a huge disappointment. Color is pretty, but dupable. Only lasts a couple hours at best. On the plus side, I will save my money in the future and will not be purchasing from Chanel.
