I have several of the Salon Manicure polishes and I really do love some of them. “A Wink Of Pink” however is just not up to the job.
It took 3 coats to make it non-streaky – and I do “prep” my nails pretty well before applying polish – but even when it was opaque, the “wink of pink” was actually more along the lines of “it may have passed a really small teeny weeny pink truck on the way to the factory”. Hardly any pink at all, unfortunately.
Needless to say, it’s going to be relegated to the “Maybe the kids will like it” box.
(yep, this is a shockingly short review – but to be honest I just can’t think of anything else to say about it!)

I’m a huge fan of Complete Manicure formula from Sally Hansen which was why I was surprised this disappointed. Currently on my toes I’m wearing Gilty Party. Last week I wore All Fired Up. A Wink Of Pink promised much: on trend color, great formula, affordable price. What I noticed different with this is the formula was thick, so thick that this streaked and didn’t level well. Attractive final outcome required 4 coats. Geez. This color took much longer to dry than other colors I’ve successfully worn from the line. The main quality I am not crazy about is the final color outcome is opaque chalky looking white out. A very muted pink that promises much but IMO falls short by having no dimension. For some reason this color/formula reminded me of something popular in the 1980’s. I’ll keep this one but I don’t recommend this. There are other muted pinks out there and I’m going to find them. Back to OPI I will go.
Update: Lousy formula. Days after my manicure this polish is still slightly tacky and prone to denting. Also, this is peeling, cracking…I detest this one. Returned.

A Wink of Pink is a really pretty palest of pale pink cremes. This is from the designer Prabal Gurung for the Runway collection released for spring/summer 2014. This is a fresh summer polish and I have already had several compliments on this one. It looks white at first, but then, look again, no it’s pink. This is such a unique color in my stash and I am really loving this one after only a few days of wear. I love the brush in this botttle. It is a plump full pro brush with a tapered tip and applies polish effortlessly. The polish is a nice creamy formula and feels smooth in application. This did take 2 coats to get an opaque look, but there were a couple places where it was still a little thin and could have used a 3rd coat. Overall, this is a great little polish and it applies well, lasts long, and looks great on. The only complaint I have it that after this dried I was able to see the edges of the silk patches where I had repaired a couple of spots. It wasn’t visible to others, but I could see it and it bothered me. I think I actually like this better than white for the summer as it has that hint of pink that softens it and makes this feel fresh. This is a nice clean look and I am really loving this color.
