Lets begin the review with the eyeshadow half of the palette. You get sixteen eyeshadows in an even split between mattes and shimmers; 8 mattes across the top two rows [Pina Colada (cream), Passionfruit Martini (peach), Oh Honey (yellow), 666 (red), Tan-Tastic (orangey tan), Baby Girl (fuchsia), Fine Whine (plum) & 70% (dark chocolate)] and 8 shimmers across the bottom two rows [Glossy (pearl), Drippin’ (golden bronze), Twerk (passionfruit), October (dark bronze), Paradise (teal), Ca$h (banknote green), Kisses (fuchsia) & Boy Bye (coral/red)]. I’ll mention now that the eyeshadow formulas in Ultimate Goddess don’t feel as quite as buttery as those in her Goddess On The Go palette – the formulas here all [except one] great formulas for this price-point, just not as great as the ones in Goddess On The Go.
Paradise is the odd one out; the shade takes quite a bit more building up, to reach it’s pan-appearance. It does reach where it’s meant to be, but the extra work is noteable. Every other shade applies/blends easily – no problems with anything else. Every shade wears well; I’ve had no problems with 8 to 11 hours of wear – a bit of creasing at the end of the day, but that’s normal for my hooded/deepset eyes.
The bronzer shade Bronde [medium neutral tan (matte)] actually looks nice on my fair skin once its been buffed out a bit – but dip your brush in the pan lightly and tap off the excess vigorously. Indulge [dark warm tan (matte)] is too dark for me, but hey, bronzers aren’t meant to be universal. Bronze Glow [medium warm tan (shimmer)] is also too dark and warm for me – it is a nice shade and finish for an eyeshadow though, and I think it’d be a lovely highlighter for those with deeper skintones.
All of the blush shades are fantastic and as they are all sheer and buildable, I think everyone will be able to wear them. Its also great that we are getting a matte option too [Perfect Peach (peachy shimmer), Rose (coral matte) & Caroline (rose gold shimmer)].
Erm, I can’t really think of anything useful or interesting to add; all three of the blushes are really nice and I think almost everyone will enjoy one, two or all of them. Really great shade selections. My favourite products in this entire palette.
When glancing at the highlighter pan shades, the icy Glazed looks misplaced in the palette, but when you wear it a secret champagne shift becomes visible, so it is warmer then it appears. I’ve seen so many reviews where they won’t even try the yellow gold shade Ultimate Goddess, out of fear of the pan appearance; a real shame, as it’s sheer & really pretty and wearable. I doubted that I could wear the bronzed rose-gold shade Aphrodite, but [like Ultimate Goddess] the sheer formula tones the base shade down, so it isn’t so in-your-face. I think that the formula makes the shades universal.
The Revolution collaboration eyeshadow palettes don’t always have wildly different colour stories to them and Ultimate Goddess gives me Soph x Extra Spice vibes a bit; I’ve compared the two palettes and whilst there are several similar shades, there are no outright shade dupes between the eyeshadows in Ultimate Goddess and Extra Spice, which is something that I’ve seen people complain about on Social media. I really enjoy the Extra Spice eyeshadow palette, so a having a similar colour story [plus cheek products] is something that I personally like/want in a palette and know that I’ll find shades to wear for any occasion & any season. But, having said that, I’d hestate to call this palette a must-have; Revolution have released too many palettes, quickly in succession – it’s kinda boring now, as there are only so many colours in the world and most people already own similar tones.
