Another Influencer Collab this one with Whitney Simmons, a fitness guru. So the colors have fitness names like Cardio and Trainer.
There are six eye shades and two cheek shades, all warm toned (very warm toned.)
The eyes range from a light cream shade a bit more reddish than MAC Brule to chocolate brown. Four are matte, two have shimmer (good combo, not too much shimmer.) The cheeks are one coral tone matte (a bit like Galifornia but matte?) and a shimmer in a medium warm pink beige like a highlighter but dark-ish and not “blinding.” The pans smell to me like chocolate.
Versatile for daily wear, and the promotional deal set came with a buttery lipstick in a pale pinkish beige nude (a bit light…deep rich skin tones would have to like some frosting) and a small mascara. The case of the palette is a beautiful metal with a mirror and not large, maybe a bit longer than a playing card. Mine came with the highlighter smashed because there was no foam inside to pad during shipping but Tarte replaced it swiftly and kindly.
I am a fan of neutral tones for eyes for most things, and the lightest shade cream “Cut” plus either the matte shade “Snatched” (tanned flesh) or “Tone Up” (a rosy sienna) in the crease is my go to eye look daily. That orangy tone is known to wake up eyes and I wear glasses with a very slight tint (Transitions) and it comes through as “less tired.” You can add the chocolate brown “Reps” for corners, line or smoked out to get more definition. Sometimes I do that, but my “get up and get out” look is just “Cut” and “Snatched” plus the “Sweat” blush and I’m ready to go. Sometimes I dust the highlighter all over the face “Flex” for a more glowy look.
Only the color “Snatched” is close to a bronzer and it’s a small pan so not ideal for contour or bronzing nor is “Flex” that good as a highlighter. It’s a wearable not glittery color which is great but has not that bright shiny look for cheekbones. More of an all-over shade.
The colors are rather similar to other palettes such as the Sugar “Slice” but larger pans and better blush size. The lipstick Bare Bud is wearable as a nude but goes on lighter than it looks. Feels great but doesn’t last. But I’m ok with light summer lipsticks. Mascara, didn’t try it. Set runs $35 without any special site sales and is excluded at this writing for coupons as it’s new-ish.
I like the size for travel. Some people report trouble with the highlighter pan popping out (I had that issue) and the stickers being applied sloppily to the palette.
Over all, I love it and for the cost, it’s a workhorse that could sit in your gym bag’s cosmetic case for after workout-repair.
