This is great if you have been wanting to try Tarte blushes, there is definite bang for your buck. I like that this is a sleek compact and has a mirror, it is definitely not bulky nor heavy at all; so it would be good for travel (although I would still cushion it nicely).
I think, imho, that the shades in here are more geared for fair to light skin-toned gals. I am tanned currently, and only 1 of the shades really showed up on me, 2 shades were barely even detectable at all, and one of the shades was totally MIA on my cheeks, even building it up. All 4 of these seem like dupes of blushes that are already in Tarte’s permanent line of blushes. But again, if you are new to Tarte or want to try their blushes, this is an excellent starting point. I will say it seems there is not a ton of variation between 3 of the 4 shades (‘live’, ‘love’ and ‘laugh’–with ‘laugh’ having a shimmer to it), and ‘dream’ is the most pigmented on my skin. ‘Love’ on my skin looks like a dead-on dupe for Tarte Exposed, and I am 99% sure the other 3 shades also have dupes in the Tarte line.
To me, this is a very cute re-packaging introduction to Tarte blushes with cutesy little names. While I think medium to dark skin toned folks may be disappointed with the shades, I think fair to medium folks and especially those new to Tarte might enjoy this. The pigmentation is there, just not ‘enough’ for my tanned skin, which, is kind of ironic, being this is released for Spring/Summer. These shades seem more geared for Fall or Winter or fair-skinned folks. Not saying tanned folks might not enjoy these, just for me as a tanned person, only one of these showed up on me. The other 3 basically melded into nothing on my skin. They are all pretty shades, but to me, they are pretty shades on lighter skin tones than mine..jmo..and again, 3 of the 4 shades seem really similar, at least what I can tell on my skin….
No scent and no skin irritation for my sensitive nose and sensitive skin.
Decent product, but if you already have a few Tarte blushes, I would say this is a pass. Great concept, and definite bang for your buck if you do not own any of Tarte’s blushes (currently $38.00USD for 4 generous sized blushes, whereas a single Tarte blush is currently $26.00USD), but the shades really are nothing new or 3 of the 4 are not very different from each other, imho…Still, a nice little collection of Tarte blushes!!!
