I initially bought this palette as an affordable dupe for Melt’s Smoke Sessions. I did eventually cave and buy Smoke Sessions and, man, was I surprised when I ended up liking the Just My Luck palette better.
Every single shade in here performs well. Even the matte pastel color (Chances Are) shows up nicely. And pastels are notoriously difficult to formulate.
I like that this palette has a lot of depth to it. None of the colors are too similar to each other so you can get a good variety of looks without having to pull in another palette.
These blended very well and wore for eight hours on my oily lids. The dark shades packed nicely and were not patchy. Big Banks, Kiss my Hass and Chances Are were my favorites in here.
The only con I can think of is that the packaging isn’t “pretty.” But that’s it. I actually like the slim case it comes in, so it’s easy to store and travel with. It’s magnetic so you can remove the pans easily.
I’m still shocked that this performed better than Smoke Sessions. Way to go Colourpop! For 12 USD I got nine eyeshadows that were vibrant, blended easily, wore nicely and gave a beautiful color story that could work with many different looks.
Of all the monochromatic palettes I’ve tried Just My Luck is my favorite. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good green eyeshadow.

I have been obsessed with the color green this year so when I saw that Colourpop had come out with a monochromatic green palette (and only for $12) I just had to buy it! It is a 9-pan palette and does come with a mirror (if that is important to you.) The palette is also magnetic so the shadows can be removed either to be rearranged or put in your own magnetic palette. The shadows consist of four shimmers and five mattes (some of which look like they have some shimmer, but apply matte). I found all of the mattes easy to apply and blend. If you are not accustomed to using green shadows it may take some practice learning how to build and blend them. The shimmer shadows are definitely the stars of this palette. They apply smoothly and do not need a wet brush or finger application to show off how stunning they are. The yellow-green shade Mary Jane is more flakey in the pan than the others, but still applies very easily. These green shadows are very pigmented and do stain brushes (and in some cases skin). The eyeshadows have held up well every time I have used them (always with primer). This has been my favorite purchase this year. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for green eyeshadows and at $12 it is a bargain. This is my first Colourpop palette and will definitely not be my last!
