I was lucky enough to pick this up during a sale, but its gone back to full price on the website. Let’s start off with my skin color which is considered fair. Currently, with a tan I’m about a 3 in Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation, or around a 4 in Giorgio Armani Power Fabric.
The bronzer has quite a neutral undertone, and is perfect for my fair skin at the moment. It has sheen throughout to give you a beautiful glowy bronze goddess kind of finish. It is definitely lighter and less orange than some of the bronzers in the other palettes (i.e. Instant Look in a Palette – Seductive Beauty is at least 2 shades deeper). The powder is fine and it applies/blends beautifully. The pigmentation is there but it is just not very dark. I would say that if your complexion were more than a shade darker than mine, this probably won’t show up much on your skin, but I reckon you could use it as a glowy finishing powder.
The blush is very pigmented, and has a gold shimmer running through it. It is in the same vein as Nars Orgasm, but much more rose pink and less shimmer. This colour would work on medium skin tones, but requires a light hand for fair skins.
The two colors are a beautiful pair. The packaging is beautiful, solid and compact. You get a very generous amount of product: 10g of blush and 12.5 g of bronzer. Considering most blushes and bronzers in the same quality category usually have around 4-8g and cost around 40$ each, this is a pretty good value. You also get a mini brush – which is mini, but it is definitely softer and fuller than you would expect with these types of gift sets. I would happily use it as a travel brush.

Let me tell you that the blush side of this is the perfect color, and you can tweak it by adding the bronzer side. I then can add the hi lighter over the top from her other compact. It wears well too. But then again I use makeup forever setting spray on top. Hope this never goes Away, just bought 2 more, one for my handbag one in reserve. Don’t need much either, so the color pay off is super. My 56 year old skin does well with CT.

The blush reminds me of NARS Orgasm except that the gold shimmer is more refined – in fact, it appears matte in the pan. I only notice the shimmer after I’ve blended it onto my skin. It’s slightly less peachy. The bronzer is great for very fair, light, and medium complexions but it may be invisible on deeper skin tones. As always with Charlotte Tilbury powders, they are finely milled and blend seamlessly for me.
The rose gold compact looks elegant and retro. The pans are generous. You get 10 grams of product in this compact. The original Filmstar Bronze & Glow highlight/contour duo is a bit larger (16 grams of product) and in spite of the fact that I use mine almost daily, I haven’t hit pan on it yet. The Bronze & Blush compact clicks shut, which was an improvement over my Bronze & Glow case, which has the same sort of design but it doesn’t fully latch when I close it. This wasn’t an issue for me since I only use it at home. (When I travel I take one of Charlotte’s “Instant Look” face palettes – each contains shadows, blushes, bronzer and highlight.)
When I swatch the two bronzers side by side, the one in Filmstar Bronze & Blush looks slightly cooler than the bronzer in my Light to Medium Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette. The latter has a definite yellow undertone on my NC20 complexion whereas the new one is more neutral.
Filmstar Bronze & Blush costs $75, which is why I didn’t immediately snap it up when it was offered during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Later when it sold out, I regretted not purchasing, so when charlottetilbury.com started carrying it, I took the plunge. They include a Mini Artistry Blush Brush with the palette. It has a short handle and the synthetic bristles are quite soft. It distributes a subtle wash of color that you can build up. Personally I prefer to use a denser, natural hair brush to apply the blush because it picks up more product, but I like to use the Mini Artistry Brush to apply the bronzer.
If you already own Charlotte’s Cheek-to-Chic blushes in Love Glow and Love is the Drug, the blush color in this may feel redundant. It’s another soft, somewhat shimmery warm pink. Like the others, I’ve been happy with the pigmentation and the color doesn’t fade on me. It’s a versatile hue that seems to coordinate with any lipstick I wear from nudes to reds, so I’ll be reaching for it a lot.
A sales rep told me that there would be a Medium to Dark version of this eventually, but she didn’t give me a release date. It makes sense, though, because there are already two shades of Filmstar Bronze & Glow.
