This palette is a staple in my pro-kit. It covers all the natural Matt shades I need for my clients. From cool to warm toned, highlighters, it’s all there. Pigmentation is good and buildable. staying power is also great, especially used in combination with a paintpot primer. The brush is excellent for blending.

I had been lusting after the French made Viseart 01 Neutral Matte palette but ended up getting the German made Kryolan V3 Natural palette after finding a local beauty supply that carried it at a reasonable $50 Cdn. I’ve tried Kryolan shadows before and was really happy with them. Their mattes are silky smooth, nicely pigmented and very easy to blend and work with. There are just 1 or 2 shades in this palette that need a little work to show up but overall it’s a pretty awesome little palette, and they last all day and the colours stay true. (For the record, I use the WnW Fergie Stay the Day eye primer). 18 shades – 6 more than Viseart’s – and this palette doesn’t steer too warm. It really is a great range of neutrals, from white through several variations of beige (both warm, cool and neutral), a nice range of both browns and greys, and finally a pretty decent black.
I’m not the youngest chicken in the hen house but these are also kind to older eyes. They don’t ‘grab’ like some mattes can (a nightmare for crepey lids) and they can also be used wet for more intensity.
I’m not saying I don’t still want the Viseart palette, BUT I think it has some pretty competent competition!
