I was mainly interested in the eyeshadow palette alone but it was sold out at the time so I splurged and got this whole set. I love everything in it except the lip liner- i don’t normally wear lip liner to begin with but I did try it a couple times and found it just a tad too creamy – it smudged as I was applying it so I definitely didn’t like it. Everything else is top notch-The eyeshadow palette is so gorgeous for a soft day look – its foolproof and always looks good, the eyeliner is a nice soft black which is surprisingly flattering for my mature eyes, the mascara gives lots of length and volume- it’s become my hg (tied with benefit they’re real) and the lipstick is a nice flattering mid toned rosey pink color- very luxe and creamy. I did watch the video on the USB and it was helpful but I could have found the video on YouTube anyways and would have preferred something more useful like a makeup bag or something else. Also there really isn’t any discount for purchasing all the items in a set versus individually. I still am happy about the purchase and will definitely be buying more CT items in the future 🙂

The Dreamy Look in a Clutch ($128) includes the following: 1 Legendary Muse Luxury Eye Palette (full size); 1 lipstick in the shade Secret Salma (full size); 1 “deluxe” Rock ‘n Kohl eye pencil in Bedroom Black (mini); 1 “deluxe” Lip Cheat lip liner in Bitten Kiss (mini); 1 “deluxe” Legendary Lashes mascara (mini); and 1 novelty lipstick-shaped USB flash drive.
I should mention that it’s really a Dreamy Look in a Nice Box; there is no bag included. The pretty cardboard box folds over like an envelope clutch with a magnetic closure. Ironically the Magical Mini Brush Set ($65) comes in a satin-lined case that looks much more like an evening clutch.
The Legendary Muse Luxury Eye Palette (full size):
Charlotte Tilbury’s shadow quads are comprised of coordinating shades in an easy-to-follow clockwise pattern that takes the guesswork out of the palette for beginners, but you don’t have to rigidly adhere to the tutorials. All of the Legendary Muse shades are light, airy, and glimmering.
The Prime shade is a gorgeous soft pink. The Enhance shade is a warm, brightening gold. The Smoke shade is not dark; it’s a gentle pinky plum, but it can add subtle depth in the crease if not true contour. If you’re looking for contrast, you’ll see more of that in Tilbury’s other palettes. The last pan in a Luxury Eye Palette is called the Pop shade, and usually it’s a glitter pan meant to be tapped onto the lid with a fingertip rather than swept across the lid with a brush. Here the Pop shade is gold glitter to add sparkle, an optional step in case you don’t feel that your eyes are twinkling enough and you want some fairy dust. I don’t use the glitter shade daily. I use it if I’m going out for cocktails, dinners at candlelit restaurants, or parties. I like to use a tiny dab of Too Faced Glitter Glue to keep it in place. The Sophisticate, a series of natural mattes, is my favorite palette for conservative offices, partly because its Pop shade is really a fourth matte shadow.
I adore the delicate shimmer shades in the Legendary Muse. They brighten and enhance my blue eyes with a soft angelic glow. In case you like to mix and match beyond the palette, I discovered that the colors in the Legendary Muse coordinate beautifully with the plummy wines and roses in the Vintage Vamp palette. I’ve been pleased with the wear of Tilbury shadows. They have very little fallout and they don’t fade or crease during my workday. I’ve also paired the Legendary Muse’s gleaming gold shadow with a mahogany brown in The Sophisticate.
Matte Revolution Lipstick in Secret Salma (full size):
This is a beautiful rosy pink hue that looks like a deeper yet more vivid version of my natural lip color. Matte Revolutions feel creamy compared to mattes from other brands and they have a velvety finish. They never leave my lips feeling parched or looking cracked the way liquid lipsticks do. The chiseled, squared tip makes it easy to apply color precisely without a brush. Eventually that sculpted tip will wear down from use, but I love it while it lasts. Note: In the tutorial Charlotte refers to the lipstick as Salma’s Secret but on the web site it’s called Secret Salma.
Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Bitten Kiss (deluxe mini):
I was excited to try this new color. Lip Cheat pencils are creamy, comfortable and long-lasting, so imagine my surprise when I first pulled off the cap and the tip of this one felt scratchy. I’m still puzzled – maybe something odd occurred at the factory or in transit – maybe it got cold and that made the tip brittle. Luckily after I sharpened it, the pencil felt normal, just as creamy as my others. Now it glides on smoothly. Bitten Kiss is a cool-toned natural lip flush shade. It is pinker and cooler than Pillow Talk, and it’s less coral than Pink Venus.
USB Flash Drive in the shape of a lipstick:
This handy little gizmo lured me into buying the kit instead of purchasing the eye palette a la carte. Shaped like a Matte Revolution lipstick, this flash drive connects via USB to a computer. I’ve always been a sucker for cute gadgets that allow me to pretend that I’m an international spy.
After the icon of the flash drive appeared on the desktop, I was able to view the MPEG4 file. With a double click, the tutorial opened right up in Quick Time Player and has a running time of five minutes and thirty-six seconds. It played easily on a Hewlett Packard laptop with a Windows 10 operating system. I also tested the flash drive on a MacBook Air with OS X El Capitan. It opened in Quick Time Player on the Mac as well and played smoothly.
The capacity of the flash drive is 3.75 GB and the movie only takes up 651,224 KB, leaving you with over 3 GB of free space. So you can load other files onto this flash drive and even wipe the drive clean if you have no use for the tutorial.
Bedroom Black Rock ‘n Kohl (deluxe mini):
These kohl pencils are creamy and apply smoothly without tugging or scratching. I wear Acuvue Oasys contact lenses. I usually don’t like to apply pencils to my waterline – many a pencil has gradually clouded my lenses throughout the day and blurred my vision. But Rock n’ Kohls fare better than most of the pencils I’ve tried, including expensive ones from Lancome and Chanel. Bedroom Black is pretty trustworthy. I sharpen the kohl before each use. The color doesn’t fade. There can be minimal smudging after a long day.
Legendary Lashes Mascara (mini):
This quickly builds thick, inky black, long lashes. I have had trouble with it smudging on my lower lashes.
At $128 this is an expensive kit. I’m glad I bought it, however; you can buy the Legendary Muse eye palette separately for $52 and Secret Salma lipstick separately for $32 if you don’t need the flash drive, mini pencils or mascara.
